I HATE percetile charts.
WHY, you ask?
BECAUSE.
By fricken definition, not everybodyt can be at the 50th percentile. YET, so many people think that 5oth percentile is like..something to strive for.
BY DEFINITION, 5 percent of people, HAVE to be at the 5th percentile for fluid. That is how a percentil chart works. Does that mean that those 5 people all have problems??? NNNOOOOO IT DOES NOT.
It just means that out of all the women, 95 have more fluid than you, and 5 have less fluid than you.
Thats ALL iot means!!!!!
You can be PERFECTLY healthy, and simply have less fluid than most other women.
It's like the stupid weight charts...just because your kid is int the 5th percentile, does NOT mean they are underweight, or underfed...PERHAPS, just maybe, they are DESTINED to be small!!!
Ugh.
I HATE percentile charts.
On an actual relevent note...how are you?
How is the baby?
Have you done any stress tests?
Kick counts?
If i may ask, how long was your first pregnancy?
Did you go into labor on your own?
You say you are sure on your dates.....i won't insult you by asking if you are SURE you're sure, LOL!
You mention your cervix is unfavorable..long and hard....
you KNOW that means an induction is unlikely to work...
here is the chart, called the Bishop score, of how likely an induction is to work.
The "chart" dod not come out very well, but basically, you get 0, 1, 2, or 3 points in each category...IF you do not score at LEAST an 8 to a ten, an induction is not going to work and you will end up with a section.
Noiw, you have said your cervix is long and closed. That measn in the "consistency" category, you get a 0.
Assuming it is still high and posterior, you get a 0 in the position category as well....if you are dilated 1-2, you get 1 point, if you are still closed you get a 0. If the baby is still high, you get 0 points there as well.....if the baby is dropped, you get points depending on what station baby hgas dropped to.
BUT, regardless, it seems like you barely have maybe a couple of points...no where NEAR the 8-10 for an induction to work.

Bishop's Score: why a 10 is perfect
Your Bishop's Score is a tool for determining the ripeness of your cervix. It's a chart your obstetrician uses to help decide how ready you are to go into labor. Here is how your Bishop's Score is determined:
Cervix Score
0 1 2 3
Position Posterior Midposition Anterior Anterior
Consistency Firm Medium Soft Soft
Effacement 0-30% 40-50% 60-70% >> 80%
Dilation Closed 1-2 cm 3-4 cm >5 cm
Station -3 -2 -1 +1, +2
