Hi Mama's,

I posted stats on the birth announcements thread and just realized I never posted in the forum!

I have finally written out Joshua's birth story.

http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=511675

He is such a sweet baby, adored by all his older siblings. I am recovering slowly. I am so grateful for my older children. They have been so helpful especially now that dh is back to work full time. I haven't had to do any housework since babe was born.

Congratulations to all the new mamas and babes! Labor vibes to those still waiting!

You are one lucky mama!
(And talented too. We loved those cute diapers. At 4 weeks, Nate has started to outgrow them. I'll be saving them for a future bundle!)

Joshua is fortunate to have such adoring siblings. And it's great that they can help you out. It's tough when it's time for dad to go back to work!

mama, what an intense birth experience. All of the emotions revolving around the birth sure can make it difficult to process, I'm still trying to process mine too. Even though this birth was far from normal for you, I'm so thankful that you listened to your inner voice!

Congrats on your beautiful boy and I really hope the chiro works wonders for you!

Thanks for posting such a detailed story Sarah. It was really good for me to read your story. Even though our births were VERY different in outcomes and lengths - I had a lot of similar thoughts about my birth, so it was really good for me to read your story. #4 was so different for me - I also felt that my labor didn't feel "good" like the others. I'm glad you articulated that. The pain was different and it didn't stop. I am absolutely, completely convinced that when we are in tune with our bodies - they tell us what to do. You knew to call your midwife and you were right. I have "attempted" two waterbirths with both of my sons. For almost five years, I thought the water in the tub was just too cold with my first son. I got in the tub and just couldn't stand it. I had to get out - my body just didn't want to be in the water. Well, it turns out - ds1 got stuck coming out and needed help. It would have been more difficult in the water with his birth. With my last birth - I labored for a while in the water, but I just started feeling very weak, and I had to get out. With the way ds2 was born, I couldn't have done it in the water. I am just totally convinced that our bodies will tell us what we need to know if we listen. Thanks for sharing your story - and congratulations!
