how to improve uterine lining?

Can anyone give me any information on how to improve my uterine lining??

I tend to ovulate a little on the early side and my doc has said that this is why I just miscarried.... b/c the IUI worked, but the lining wasn't sufficient to sustain a pregnancy.

I'd love to hear anything you've got! I don't want to have to deal with the emotional pain of this past weekend ever again... Blech.

Lady's Mantle? Check out this link http://www.sharedjourney.com/nat/herbal.html
It is under "popular herbal remedies for fertility"

The other herbs on there are great too for ttc! I'm not sure if you have used any of them or not, but I hope this helped some at least!

Lauren,

I always had pretty thin lining when I was on clomid - my acupunturist worked on it, but it didn't seem to make much difference. Once I went to injectibles, the lining improved significantly. Is that an option for you?

I've been rubbing an accupressure point, about 2" below the belly button, rub in a circular motion for about 2 minutes. Since doing this during the first part of my cycles, my periods have gotten heavier.

Wish I had more to share!

Thanks for the suggestions!! I'll have to look into them....
I've definitely noticed in the last year or so that my periods have been MUCH lighter and much shorter (like 2 days, sometimes 3...whereas they were once about 5 days or so).... That certainly concerns me. I do recall, though, when I took a B-complex vitamin last year for two months that my period was 2 days longer and heavier.... coincidence? Perhaps not?

We're taking a break from fertility treatments for a month or two.... for financial reasons AND for emotional reasons.... Now I figure is the best time to tend to my body :-)

I bet the B vitamins did help- I've read a lot of places that those are good for fertility, especially B6. I'd start taking them again.

Pregnancy Mentioned

On IVF attempt number three, which is the one that worked, I was given Viagra (can't remember dosage) but I think half a tablet every four hours beginning the day I started to inject and stopping the day after embryo transfer. It does not make you feel at all sexy, but rather, red faced and headachy, but it worked amazingly, and my lining was 9mm+ the day of transfer, which is what you want. The previous IVF attempt my lining without the Viagra had been only 7mm.

My RE always prescribes estradiol to be used vaginally for 5 nights after the 5 days of Clomid. They told me that this counters the potentially thinning effects of the Clomid (if I am not mistaken).

Sorry to hear about the miscarriage, I have been off the boards for a while :

Lauren I am so sorry about your ms.

I had acupuncture done for a month and a half-ish before my FET. The point below your belly button helps increase blood flow to the uterus, so he made sure to do that every time. My lining was almost 1.5 cm thick!

I hope this helps and that you are able to find some peace as well.

I know this is an old thread, but I've been researching lady's mantle, and all I'm finding says that it *prevents* excessive bleeding. I'm looking to make my bleeding a little *more* excessive. So, what's the deal? Does anyone know? I'd love any more info, including experience with lady's mantle.
TIA

My partner has always had uterine lining issues (clomid was terrible for her) and it has been helped by acupunture and chinese herbal tonics and homemade organic beef broth several times a day. Well this time because she is an embryo transfer recipient she has been taking estradiol injections (pretty high, .4 ml) twice a week and for the first time in her 3 years of trying she had a triple layer "beautiful" (in the words of our RE) lining.

Preganancy Mentioned

When we were TTC'ing (I have PCOS), I had a u/s on CD45 - and my lining was thin (5.4 mm). I went to a chiropractor - who discerned that there was an issue with two of my lumbar vertabrae (L3 & L4, I think). They were compressed and blocking energy and blood flow to my uterus - but improved after a few adjustments.

About six weeks later I started Clomid cycles with my RE. He was initially hesitant to try Clomid due to my lining issues, but went ahead with it b/c we didn't have the insurance coverage for injectibles. I did three cycles, got prego on the third - and my lining was perfect every time. Here are my stats:

CD45, unmedicated cycle: 5.4 mm
CD16, Clomid cycle #1: 9.2 mm
CD16, Clomid cycle #2: 8 mm
CD 16, Clomid cycle #3: 8.4 mm - got BFP!

In my case, I really think the chiropractic treatments helped (plus, I was able to get them covered by insurance).

My RE did also mention Viagra as a potential treatment for thin lining issues b/c it helps increase blood flow to the uterus.

Good luck and sorry about your recent m/c ((((HUGS)))).

i was told to take a baby aspirin because it increases the blood flow. but this could be wrong, of course. i always take it before a treatment and i have always had a lining of 9.8 or better. best of luck
