Curriculum for mom w/ poor time management?

I found out at the last minute my kids did not get into the school I applied to transfer them to. After bad experiences with our local school I am determined come hell or high water I will not send them to our local school.

I am a full-time college student. I'm trying other schools, but worst case scenario, I will switch to evening classes and homeschool them during the day. My biggest problem with hs: I am a scatterbrain. I need something to follow that are very exact lesson plans. My eldest (9yo 4th grade) does best with all the evils of ps--plain classroom desk with few distractions, lots of paperwork, timed tests, etc My 8yo 2nd grader needs extra help in reading right now. Any suggestions for curriculum if I have to homeschool? (We're pagan so the Christian-based stuff is out.)

Thanks.

You can check into the virtual academies.

We use OHVA and everything is provided for you. The kids still have to take state tests, so depending on how you feel about that. It is basically public school at home.

Charlotte Mason method.

To be honest, the first thing that came to my mind when you said *exact lesson plans* would be Calvert. It's textbook, comes to you all in one box, even with supplies. They have on line placement tests.

I haven't used Calvert because I don't want textbook...there is also Oak Meadow (which I just bought 1st grade btw)...

Or put together your own.

Thank you so much, I hope it won't come to that I really don't feel I'm qualified. I'll check those out tomorrow. Right now I need sleep--at first I thought it said "the Charles Manson method"

I don't think that's recommended! K12 is also available in your state and it looks like you have 2 options on enrollment, including a tuition-free virtual academy. (k12.com) I don't know the pros and cons, but it may be something to look into.
