Costco Shoppers. What's good lately

I've not been in about three months but we had an unexpected windfall and I'm on my way up there tomorrow. I know a few things I plan on getting: bell peppers, bannanas, diapers, sugar, wheat pasta, olive oil, chicken breasts and pork ribs. But what else is new/reduced in price lately?
not sure about new but I buy:
Cedar Lane organic burritos
Earth's Best baby food
baking powder
dried yeast
sliced real cheese
the really large tins of tomatoes/tomato sauce (about $2-3). They're huge, I make big batches of spaghetti sauce with them. If I can't use it all, I freeze the leftover tomato sauce in bags.

freeze tomato sauce? really? cool! my best friend is leaving "sometime after hunting season" to go to florida to work {he's in construction, which is next to impossible to do enough of here in the winter to keep bills paid} and is letting me have free reign over his 12 ft wide, 4 1/2 ft deep freeze. I already have visions of those two-in-a-bag chicken breasts and some vacuume sealed meats and stews....

The secret to freezing tomato sauce it to let it cool completely before refrigerating or freezing it. Otherwise it separates - gets a weird watery layer on top.

I always get the almond butter, sprouted wheat bread, spring mix (salad), tortilla chips, cheese.... I'm in canada though, but I assume there should be the same stuff there as here.

I always want to buy those ice cream bars (breyers?), but I live too far from town, so they would melt by the time I got home. arg.

I'm asking for one of those coolers that plugs into the ac/dc outlet in the cargo bay of the van specifically to allow me to transport frozen goodies from costco year-round. How sad is that?

not sad, but funny. wish I could afford something like that. Are you asking for it for x-mas?

Not per se, since we only give 3 small gifts apiece to the kids, and buy stuff for the house so we have an 'answer' for when people ask what we got {convienient that all the big ticket goodies go on sale about then!}

I should add, we live a 2 hour drive in good traffic from the costco we use, which is the closer of only 2 in our state

i go there every once in a while and i usually get...

a jar of sundried tomatoes in Olive Oil..
case of olives(whole pitted in cans)
case of pineapple (canned)
jar of almond butter
jug of maple syrup
sprouted grain bread (silver hills..)
veggie burgers (moneys mushroom)
frozen white fish (janes)
a big can of diced tomatoes (they are HUGE but i divide it up into ziplock bags in my freezer and it lasts a while.. )
case of annies mac&cheese
whatever other yummy organic stuff i see and can offord..

gosh i really need to make a trip there soon!

oh, I forgot the maple syrup, a MUST!

: Off topic: I don't buy annies mac and cheese, cause its made in the states, where cows are injected with milk hormones, and it gets into the milk products and can negatively affect girls, boys, women and men (in different ways, but its got estrogenic affects) I don't buy kettle chips anymore either, or anything with milk products that is made in the us.

good point.. i havn't bought any in months.. i make my own veganish mac n cheese with nutritional yeast and butter most of the time and E likes it better anyways..

my dp just read something about "hydrolised protein" its a neurotoxin like MSG freaky..

The organic Annies wouldn't have growth hormones, but that possibly isn't an available option.

I got a big bag of brown rice that's in a nice reuseable bag too.

I saw but didn't get a 3 pack of organic kids cereal that looked like a pretty good deal. I'll get it next time when I have more room.

Almond butter?!!! I'm gonna hafta look!

we go AT LEAST once a week since it's less than 5 min away, but this past week we got flats of raspberries, figs, pluots.
Our costco has recently gotten more cheeses...we've thus far tried drunken goat cheese, and a really soft and stinky french one (not st andre but similar consistency).

near the checkout was a stand of chocolate truffles from France, but who's gonna eat almost a gallon's worth of truffles????

organic chicken broth, organic bread, organic teething cookies, organic crackers (TLC and back to nature stoneground wheats)
