Two of my oldest friends and I got together the othe night for the first time in more than 8 years! and we baked for about 4 hours and then started making gnomes. We made gnomes until 3 in the morning! They were very simple.
You need:
pipecleaners
felt
1/2 inch wooden beads
small beads for hands and feet
wisp of wool or mohair or? for beard
accessories if desired
glue
needle and thread
Cut a circle of felt about 2-1/2 inches in diameter and a traingle of felt with about 2-1/2 inch base and 2 inch apex (or size to fet bead.
Sew up two sides of triangle to make hat. Add a tiny bell or gold bead on top if you wish.
Make a tiny hole in middle of circle of felt.
take a 5 inch pipecleaner and fold in hald. Dip in glue and push bead on doubled end.
put "feet" in hole in felt and push up to bead
wrap rest of pipecleaner around the bottom of felt trim so you have two arms about 1-1/4 inches long. They should stick out from felt circle.
Dip ends of limbs in glue and push on small wooden beads for hands and feet.
Put glue on body and fold circle of felt down to make a little poncho. Little legs should be sticking out bottom.
Glue hat on head and beard on face.
Glue or sew on accessories. We used tiny mushrooms, snowflake buttons, nuts, acorn tops, tiny cardinals and berries.
Arrange limbs in a pleasing way.
We made ours in same colour flet as pipecleaners abd some with twisted 2 colours of pipecleaner for stripey stockings.
Have fun! We made about 20!
I hope to post pix on my blog tonight.
