(including our star, Lillian )

Would you be interested in a meetup sometime this fall?

This is the very first (cross) post about it, but I am very interested in meeting the most of you I haven't met and hanging with the some of you whom I have.

Thoughts?

Oh, dear...I clicked on this with the intention of saying "Can I come too?," but now I'm gonna' be too self-conscious! - Lillian

Well, we're just starting to consider homeschooling as an option (DD is almost 3), but I'd love to meet up ! We're in Seattle.

I'd like to meet up as well. Although I've already met Ann off here, who homeschools.

I would be interested but I live over in Kitsap County so I would have to do a Ferry ride unless you are looking at Tacoma meeting place. Please plan something, I will watch this thread and if we can come we will. I have an almost 7 year old, 4 year old and 6 mos old.

I'd love to come! I'm hsing my 2nd grader and 5 yr old this year. I'm pretty ecclectic in style even though I'd like to be a little more organized
We're in Everett and are pretty active in the Trestle Homeschool group that covers all of Snohomish county and anyone else that wants to join. PM me for more info-our first parent mtg is Sept 12.

WOW-Lillian is in our midst-how cool I love referring people to your site! Thanks for the wonderful info.

I am down in Oly and may be able to come.
Here is a thought. Tacoma Art Museum has free admission every third Thurdsday and they have the most amazing art space that is open to the public. We could meet there and let the kids draw, paint, what have you?

Controlled chaos is a beautiful thing!

Depending on the turnout we could try to secure a room to ourselves as well. Muttering out loud at this point... Tacoma looks so far to be a middle ground.

Does anyone know of any other fabulous "OMG you have to see this space!" places?

Tacoma Art Museum sounds like something my kids would really enjoy! I don't know of any other cool places. We don't have much over here that couldn't be found on the Seattle side.

It's not that central but the Everett Children's Museum is really great and not that busy during the day. I can get in 3 people free with my membership.

If it's nice weather I really like Forest Park too. It's got a nice playground (enclosed on 3 sides), open space, and nice trails for easy hiking-we often go on "fairy hunts" there

Edmonds Beach is nice too since it has the playground right behind the beach area.

I'm fine with going south as long as it's early enough to miss commute traffic coming back. My 22 mos old is at a bad carseat stage for traffic jams-grrrr

Tacoma Art Museum sounds great, my daughter would love a room full of paint

I'll come to the one after Tacoma Art Museum. Although I am sure it is fabulous, the thought of driving that far south makes me want to cry.

Edmunds Beach is lovely! But I can't recall the playground at all - is it visible from the beach??? Although I don't suppose that's very central. I'm in downtown Seattle, and I go to Edmunds a lot, but it's a bit of a drive...

Whatever place gets decided on, from past experience, I'd recommend one that is enclosed and that requires a minimum of one-on-one attention. It can get kind of stressful when too much is going on at once.
