Yes. we're public so I won't go much further than this: up the hill, down danforth

I think your place sounds awesome but it would be an all day trip-would that work for most? How about 2 options...

How about planning something at Greenlake library for a meet/greet type thing just to chat and get to know each other. We do this first. Maybe in the next 2 weeks or so. I bet 50 people would be the most IMO but who knows...If it's just an open time thing like 10am-1pm then people would come and go at different times and maybe alleviate the crowd issue.

Then we plan an all day type thing at your place? People can plan for it and maybe carpool, etc. Maybe we can we do this in early/mid October and plan a few more things with it? Maybe we could have a speaker or just Lillian
But seriously-I would love to hear other people talk about their "styles" and maybe share resource ideas. And I really would love to hear how Lillian started her wonderful site and some of her experiences! pretty please?

Lillian, I told ya! I am not alone with the

Lillian has to come to wherever we go, ITA.

I like Ann's suggestion. A meet and greet is what I so want, but I don't want to be in lockdown in a library room when the kids are going to freak about it. If the kids have a playground and we do it in the next two, then we should be ok weather-wise.

Lillian do you camp?

I was going to use our old street but decided against it. I know where you speak of though.

I am thinking that if Tacoma won't work for a lot of moms, then Gig Harbor definitely wouldnt?? I would hate to have something big planned that leaves a lot of moms out of the loop.

Now cut that out! I have nothing to say - I've run myself dry in this forum.

Got tired of repeating myself over the years, and posting article links all the time, and decided to just put stuff in a website - and one thing led to another... Meanwhile, I'd been volunteering for ages with HSC, the HomeSchool Assn. of California, for ages, and had done a Homeschooling Gateway to the Internet for their site - but they got frustrated with the volunteer time it took to keep checking the links and all, so they finally timidly asked me if I'd just take it for my own site. Have kept adding links. There - told you I don't have much to say ... Lillian

Just a word of warning - well, warning isn't exactly the word, just an observation, really... But I've been at several get togethers where people who knew one another online met up, and it's really strange how suddenly shy and quiet people can get in person. So - nobody get shy on us, okay? Hey, really - I spent a major portion of my life shy before I finally got fed up with it and just quit . - Lillian

Straight on. That's why I think Ann is right on her initial suggestion. I will definitely be doing something like this though; it's way too cool an idea not to share, I think. But for an initial meet and greet, bringing tents to someone's home might not be the best way to proceed!

The only drag may be parking, but if folks are aware and are open to looking for street parking (which I usually find) it would be great.

btw-we are interested.
Ahhh! Now there is my one thing, I don't parallel park. But if there is paid parking nearby, I can go for it.

Oh, good grief - I wasn't referring to you - I was referring to everyone in general! I mean it's pretty unlikely that someone who's publicly threatened me with bodily harm on the Internet is particularly retiring in person... - Lillian

OK, go to the library for a couple of hours and see what this thread turns into : .

We can get the room at the Greenlake library, today it held 15 mamas and their little ones pretty well (99 people would be WEDGED).

In terms of parks, Meridian park is mostly toddler stuff and fairly well contained - Greenlake is loverly but not at all well contained, I have trouble talking with one mama at a time there.

I would love a meet and greet and then see what grows from there?

Added - if we are interested in the library room, just give me a rough date range and I'll see what is available. They make me sign a form saying we will be good, so no one gets to spank Lillian!

laughup

It's me - I get shy in real life meet up situations. I don't know why- I actually am not a very shy person either. Maybe I don't want to scare people away.

BTW- Anyone can get into the Puyallup Fair for free if they go this Friday before noon.
