Help my poor dry hands!

I have an awful type of excema, just on the palm side of my fingers on my right hand. But I have a hard time moisturizing enough, b/c I HATE the greasy feeling, or the slippery feeling. Does anyone have a lotion/cream/oil/whatever that moisturizes well and is quickly absorbed, without leaving residue?

Apricot oil, jojoba, and olive oils (use the olive on dry hands, in small amounts - great for rest of body too) absorb quickly. Cocoa butter (try Palmer's in the jar, available at any Walmart or pharmacy) is great for skin and forms a waterproof barrier from further drying from washing hands.

If skin thickening is part of the issue, Lact-Hydrin 5 is very good.

I've found plain coconut oil to soak in nicely too.
The cocoa oil I've got smells nice, but I haven't tried it on my hands to see how well it soaks in.

The only thing that gets rid of my super dry skin is Eucerin lotion. I got it initially for my son's excema and but it works good on me too. It is not too greasy, but it is thick. I think it is a good protective layer on my hands in the winter too. And, if you put it on right before bed, it shouldn't be too bad.

click above to see Dream Cream. I agree with bluebottle, this stuff is amazing! I keep a jar in the kitchen and one next to my bed - it's the only thing I've found that keeps my hands healthy.

My hands are brutal sometimes. The best thing I do is to use milder soap. I dilute the dishsoap alot and use dove bars to wash, in the kitchen, so I won't wash my hands with dishsoap. If you can hack this, coat your hands with a really thick moisturiser at night, anything you use for diaper rash will be awesome, and put cotton socks over top. Be really liberal!

I love shea butter for dry skin.

Dream cream is very nice too.

The best thing I've found for dry hands is "bee balm" - basically a mix of beeswax and olive oil. The stuff I get is probably not sold in stores outside Vermont, but I'm sure there are similar products out there. Here is a link to their website (sorry if it is messed up, this is my first time posting a link).

The above is another link for "Helping Hands" - really protects and heals dry, itchy skin. I use this for ds when his eczema flairs up and on my own cracked hands.
