Just wondering. My MW thinks a tub rental is silly for me scince my first labor was so fast (in the hosp.). She said buying would be cheaper..... any other tub rec.?

It is very similar to mine which is this one

This one is a little cheaper though, it is sturdier than most other pools because of the vertical support.

I gave birth in a rubbermaid stock tank (you know, for watering horses and cows?) that cost about 150-200.00. It was GREAT. My first labor was about 4 hours, my second was 12, so, who knows! Renting may or may not be practical for you. I have a friend who bought an aquadoula and now rents it out, which made it pay for itself in about 6 months. Just an idea.

I have that one to loan out to clients.

I will say the cheaper fishy pools are just as good. And if your birth happens so fast that you don't use it, you're not out mega money.

I used that one too. I borrowed it from my MW. It was very comfortable and filled up in about 15 min.

I just atteneded a birth where that tub was used and it was really great. The walls were sturdy enough and the tub was deep enough and a great size. It was big enough to move around in but not so big that the laboring mama was hard to reach.

Thanks Everyone I think we are going to go with the inflatable pool you all have indorsed I would do the rubbermaid thing but it would cost just as much as my doula rental ( $150 ). I think having a padded floor will be nice also. I tried so hard with my DD but I could not get a good push in the birth tub at the hosp. I'm also 5'11" so the tub they had was for a woman and I'm as big as a man

My butt got really sore in the birth tub also.padding sounds nice. I'm thinking of putting a non skid bathmat in the birth tub this time so I dont slip around... What do you think?
