Anyone else in this DDC still nursing?

Just wondering if there were others here who are currently breastfeeding and planning to keep it up through the pregnancy.

my son will be 3 in november and he still nurses. I also nursed my dd thru my 2nd pregnancy. my milk seemed to stop late in pg but she still comfort nursed and didnt stop until a few months ago. But Rowan was born pretty small, {not quite 6 lbs} and Ive always wondered if the 2 could be related..

My daughter will be 3 in October and she nurses about 3 times per 24 hours. I didn't want to nurse during pregnancy or tandem nurse, but we didn't want to wean her or wait indefinitely to have #2 so here I am! I'm trying to drink LOTS of water as that seems to help ward off sore nipples. tbh I'm kind of dreading the idea of it all. I don't want my pregnancy milk supply loss to wean my daughter before she's ready, and I also don't want those feelings of annoyance towards my daughter that people talk about wrt nursing while pregnant.

(PS I tested this morning with first morning pee and it's still a BIT faint, but strong enough for my husband to really believe I'm pregnant. LOL)

My DD (she turned 2 in May) still nurses once in the morning. I am wondering what she will do with the milk stops flowing...

I'm nursing my 15-month old and plan to keep it up during pregnancy. He still nurses several times a day and at least once at night. He's very much a comfort nurser so I imagine he'll keep going even if I lose my milk during pg.

I'm nursing my (almost) 21 month old. He was born 12/7/04. He only nurses once in the morning and once before bed. I was worried if it is bad for the growing baby, as far as causing contractions or stealing nutrients--anyone know? I was going to try to wean him but he is still pretty attached. This morning I told him no and he started to cry (which made feel terrible) and I gave in. It makes me feel bad because I hate to force him to wean but I'm so worried about it at the same time.

From what I've found online, it's not a problem to breastfeed through a pregnancy unless there's a danger of preterm labor or if the mother isn't well nourished (hah! I needn't worry about that! ). Here are some online resources I found useful:

I am still nursing my 23 mth old once a day. I am hoping he weans soon as I really dislike nursing while being PG. I did nurse my 4th throughout my 5th PG and it was to hard on my body to do both, I was exausted all the time, sick all the time and it was just rough. I really don't want to go through that again...

Still nursing my (almost) 28 month old. She will probably nurse until she's 25, lol! Seriously, I don't know how long she'll nurse. I try not to think about it, as it gets overwhelming to think about tandem nursing. I just try to make it through the day.

I'm nursing my 14 month-old daughter about 3 times a day still. I would like to continue to nurse her as I am sensing there would be real jealousy issues between her and the new little one if she was no longer nursing (forced to wean). How are you all eating? I am not sure I can keep up with pregnancy and nursing!

Still nursing my 17 month old DS. He nurses about twice at night, to sleep for nap time and bedtime...and occasionally throughout the day.

My nursling is 22 months old and I always thought the idea of tandem was so cool! But when it comes down to it, I just don't think its for me. Right now our goal is one nursey at night, and one nursey when we wake up. We're doing pretty good with it, he's easily distracted if he asks during the day and I offer him something else. But we need to work on night nursing...

If he can stick to once in am, and once in pm I think I could do it. But I know I couldn't nurse both on demand. The thought just overwhelms me! But I don't want him to feel like he is being displaced by the new baby, so if he doesn't deal well with our little routine, if seeing the new baby nurse is too much temptation, I'd prefer he wean while I'm pregnant. Of course, I have no way of knowing how he'll be after the baby comes, so I guess what it comes down to is I have no idea if I will tandem!

I nurse my 22 month old.

I am in the process of weaning her.

My goal is to nurse my kids till they are 2 or about.

I am tired of nursing her. She was nursing like a newborn till I started weaning her. Its really hard on me not getting a uninterrupted nights sleep and I would like a bit of a break before starting a new nursing relationship.

I'm still nursing my 3 year old .... I think we are finally down to just twice a day. She is still very 'into' it though and I'm not. I'm hoping that she decides she's done soon.

I am still nursing dd #2, who will be three in November. She only nurses 2-3x per day, but shows no sign of quitting.

I'm still nursing my 12.5 month old DD. I nursed my DS through my pregnancy with DD. I did have a good deal of soreness and didn't enjoy nursing him much anymore. (I found it almost irritating.) He weaned at 21 months right after she was born.

My DD isn't a big comfort nurser like DS was, and nurses about 4x a day total.

Stupid nurse

Grrrrr....I suspected this was going to happen. I had my first appointment for this pregnancy this morning and the OB nurse looked shocked and appalled when I mentioned that I was still breastfeeding. She then said "you know you're going to have to wean her, right?" :

I don't wish to wean my daughter and if I did it would be devastating for her. She still nurses 8 or more times a day! Yes, it has gotten a bit uncomfortable with the pregnancy hormones, but you know, it hurt like blazes the first few weeks, too.

I haven't seen my OB yet. She doesn't personally see patients until they're further along. I hope she's a little more enlightened, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I really, really wish I had the option of seeing a midwife or someone who's more natural parenting-friendly. But my insurance won't cover anything but an OB from a particular group. And I don't have the money to pay out of pocket.

OK, totally missed this thread when I was looking over the ddc. So just disreguard my other post. :LOL I am still nursing my 12 month old several times a day. When do you usually starting having supply issues and sensitive nipples and other sorts of things? I have never done this before, so I am all for hearing the experiences of others.
