I love it when I see NIP!

I visited the San Diego Wild Animal Park today (I'm obviously nuts - it was like a hundred and sixty degrees out) and saw a woman NIP an older baby on a bench. She had a lot of other kids and I'm sure she has long since given up trying to find "private" places to nurse! It is just such a rare sight for me that I wanted to give her a big thumbs up. Just thought I'd report it here 'cause it was a nice thing to see.

I no longer NIP my 15-month-old much because she is utterly unable to concentrate and so WON'T nurse in a public place (she might latch for 2 seconds before she hops down), and also doesn't ask much to nurse while we're out and about. But I really like to see others doing it!

I'm the same way. It's so very RARE that I see it. I did it for the first time while walking with ds in a sling thru the mall. I was so proud of myself. My dd (teenager who is embarrassed that mom NIP) didn't even know I was doing it and she was right next to me. That was until he unlatched and relatched and make a few slurpy noises!

I was semi-stalking a family in Whole Foods today because I was so excited to see a mom wearing her baby in an ergo (in my town it is usually prim moms with bobs and sweaters tied around their shoulders.) Then the babe started making little cries so she said "do you want to nurse?" and proceeded to nurse him while they walked around the store. I got in line behind them and she put the boob away, but the babe had other ideas and began protesting, so she said "oh, you weren't done?" and he went back to nursing. It was so sweet.

I also saw a mom with her baby in one of those wraps that is just like a big long piece of fabric that wraps all around. They were so cute.

2 babywears and one NIPer in 1 day!

I saw a mom NIPing in the back seat of her car at the grocery store... baby must have been waiting while she shopped and she wanted to feed him right away. I was putting my cart away by them, and I SOOO wanted to say, "great job, mama! that's so sweet!" but I was worried she wanted a bit of privacy (door was open somewhat but maybe just for air/cool?) and I didn't want to spook her. But it was still great to see!

Awesome

That's great. I hope if I ever get married, my wife will feel the same way.
