Well, this weekend really was a Labor Day weekend - we seemed to get a lot done - hooray.
I finally tamed my laundry room beast. We're so lucky in that we have a mainfloor laundry room, but it was always so cluttered with other stuff and junk and things that needed sorting that I hated going in there; it felt so flippin' claustrophobic
:
Well, I decided to 'separate' it into 3 sections; One is the 'mudroom - I took a piece of remnant lino, and laid it on the floor in one corner, and then put shelves 6 high up against the wall for *everybodies* boots and shoes - over that is a pegboard for hats, scarves, mitts etc. At the other end of the lino are the Recycling boxes...
In my laundry section I have three baskets to separate before washing, and my clothes airer (right next to the window, and over the heating vent
) and the washer and dryer. Then, next to the dryer I have a large tote for my fabrics and sewing machine, and a tote containing all of the supplies for the dogs. I also purchased a larger garbage can with lid.
The best news....I did some work for a friend, and was able to purchase all the supplies at a great price without dipping into our monthly budget
If it wasn't for all of the inspiration that I've received here from all of your stories I would never have seized this intiative, so THANK YOU soooo much! I really feel as though I can tackle things now...on to the kitchen cupboards
