I'm sorry that you didn't get your hb (you'll just have to try again ), but I'm glad that the docs didn't try to interfere. How was the rest of your hospital stay?

Very short. Which was just the way I wanted it. She was born and we were home and in our own bed less than 2 hours later.

That is AWESOME!!!!! I am so pleased for you! So you did not endure anyone taking your baby then! YEAH!!!

How are you feeling about it all?
Thinking of you and the sweet little one!

After her cord had stopped pulsing and was cut and she had been on my chest for almost half an hour, they said to me, "sorry but can we steal her to weigh and measure her?" My heart started to beat real fast until they pointed out she was only going as far as the foot of my bed. They have everything needed right in the rooms by mom's bed. Also, we don't vaccinate newborns for anything here and they actually ask you if you want the vitamin K and eye goop. If you don't want it, it's no big deal, they just need you to sign a form saying you turned it down. I am glad things were handled like this as silly me never, ever thought I'd end up at the hospital so I wasn't prepared and didn't remember all the procedures.

I don't think I've actually processed it all yet. I am very mad at times thinking of how it could have been handled differently and saved me the trip to the hospital. But I am also very happy that the hospital portion was uneventful (other than the actual birth!) and other than a short, bumpy, sore car ride there, didn't really interfere with the birth. I have so much going through my head right now, I really think this one is going to take me a LONG time to sort through.
