Lynden Murray was born at home today at around 4pm. Labour was about six hours total, with approx. ten minutes of pushing. Daddy caught his son and stuck him right up on my chest, and everything was absolutely perfect.
Lynden weighs 8lbs 5ozs, which shocked everyone - the midwives were predicting about 6 1/2 lbs and I was sure he couldn't be more than 7. The placenta was HUGE, too! I didn't get very big near the end, so everyone wonders where all that baby & placenta was hiding.
He latched on like an old pro about 20 minutes after his birth, and nursed for a solid two hours. He's been sleeping on the boob and in Daddy's arms for the last little while. Things couldn't be more incredible right now.
