A few days ago I went to my first scrapbook "crop" ever. (For those who don't know, like I didn't, a "crop" just means getting together to work on your scrapbooks).
My MIL recently began scrapbooking and this crop was thrown by her Creative Memories consultant. My MIL bought the ticket for me and a bunch of scrapbook stuff too!
ANyway, we didn't stay the whole time (8 hours!) but we stayed for about 5 hours and....I had SO MUCH FUN!!!!! It was so great to spend all that time relaxing, chatting with other women, working on my scrapbook, and NOT getting interrupted! Not changing diapers, cleaning spills, finding lost toys, cleaning, cooking, playing pretend, etc etc. It was great to see all these women just relaxing and having fun.
There were about 90 women there. One had her baby (10 weeks old) and one bought her daughter (probably 9 or 10) and NO other kids. Wow. The next day I went to a LLL conference- babies and kids EVERYWHERE! (including mine) And that is lovely, of course. But that is my life, day after day after day. It was fun to do something that was NOT typical of my very kid-centered lifestyle.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Just wanted to share how wonderful this experience was for me. I called a creative memories person in my town so I could start going to "crops" around here too.
Anyone else here do this type of thing? I swear, when the kids are older, I could see becoming a CM consultant. Seemed like a fun way to make money...

, but usually 4-6 ladies will get together. I leave my two boys with their Dad for the afternoon and just have a blast chatting and working on my scrapbook. I always come home recharged - getting to be away for a bit and focusing on these photos/memories of the special times with my family. It's wonderful!
