Doulas in the Poconos?

I am 11 weeks along, and have been trying to find a doula in my area without luck. I looked for months for a midwife or doula w/ my first pregnancy (DS born in 10/2004) without luck. I am hoping perhaps 2 years later that has changed. I live in Madison TWP PA, 20 mins south of Scranton.

Though pronunciation might be off, I am fearing she might just be right.: I just can't beleive that I live in such a place, that in all the poconos there is not one doula. I had saw one, but I called the place, and she is no longer on the recording, and nobody is getting back to me, after 3 messages.

If anybody has heard of her or anybody else, please let me know.

Her name is Sarah Glenn, CCE, Labor and Postpartum Doula
Holistic Maternity Services, based out of Stroudsburg PA.

Have you tried posting this in "Finding Your Tribe?"
or maybe http://www.findadoula.com

Have you gone to www.dona.org & checked their listing? THey list certified doulas & you can request a non-certified doula list also. Good luck with your search!!

Where are you delivering? I'm in East Stroudsburg and am delivering in Hackettstown. Great doula I met through my midwives there who will come support here in PA pre-hospital, and I believe will also do home births, though I'd have to give her a call to confirm. If you're close to the NJ border / I-80 I think she'd probably be willing. Wouldn't hurt to ask, anyway. Let me know and I'll put you in touch.
