Full moon tomorrow (Thursday 9/7)

Lets see if Mama Moon helps put any of our babies in our arms. I am very curious if it will have any effect at all on us.

I've thought that I'd have my baby on the 9/7 for many months, but at this point who knows. I guess we will just have to wait & see.

I can't remember where but I read that the full moon often brings babies on the day before or the day of a full moon - the last few months I was convinced baby would come a week or week and a half earlier than the EDD until I heard about the full moon when I started getting the feeling baby would be right "on time" since I'm "due" tomorrow.

Here's hoping babies will be on their way soon for those of us who are ready!!

I've always heard it's the 3 days after the full moon that it has the most effect - we'll see!

I said from the very start she was coming on the 9th - so who knows. I'd be perfectly happy for her to come whenever though

My first baby was a 'full moon baby', my second born right before the new moon. I would love another full moon baby, though! I'll be ready on Friday.

I was thinking about this when I was in the shower this morning, wondering if anyone was planning any ceremonies for the full moon. I am going to wait until it comes out and go say a prayer by our cedar trees for a good strong labor/birth and a happy/healthy/hungry babe. Then I'm gonna climb up on the picnic table and let Grandmother Moon bathe my belly and baby in her light.

Ohh good idea!!! I don't think I'll do anything formal, but I will definatly be spending sometime in the moon light probably meditating on a healthy baby & peaceful delivery. I'll probably spend some time begging for baby to come SOON too. :

How poetic...I think you should explore creative writing!

I've had the 7th in my mind for a due date as well. I recently discovered it was going to be a full moon.

Wanna know something crazy? Two years ago, the full moon in September was on my b-day. Last year in September it was on our wedding night. So, ya know, I can't help but hoping the tradition will follow and our beautiful little girl will be born on the full moon night this year

Here's hoping!

A number of people have predicted a full moon baby for me, but I'm holding out for International Talk Like a Pirate day. Arrrrrr!

(we need a pirate smiley!)

Well, I went to see my MW today and told her I was counting on the moon tonight. I also told her about ya'll and that there were probably at least 10 of us altogether planning on tonight being the night. Ever the realist she told me that most babies actually come closer to the new moon. The full moon is too bright and it isn't safe for mamals to birth in that much light. (She tries really hard to keep me realistic ) That may be the case, but I just had a nice ceremony anyway. I decided to make it more about asking for a quick, safe labor and a healthy, whole baby, and not think about a timeline. It was really nice. It's actually cloudy here tonight, but the moon came out just long enough for me to say a prayer under the cedar tree and then I sat on a blanket in the yard and exposed my belly and babe to the moonbeams for a while. It was really nice to be outside tonight. Oh, and today I bought a "Virgo" candle and I lit it exactly at moonrise to honor all of our little Virgo's

Love to everyone and prayers on this full moon night for safe deliveries and healthy babies to all...

I took my birth ball & a glass of wine outside & just sat on the ball bathing my belly in moonbeams & 'chatting' with Lady Luna about helping this baby come out. Actually more than anything I asked for peace with baby's timeline because I know that I really can't do anything about when he's ready, but I can try to be more at peace with it.

Here's hoping she had some effect on someone's labor

I feel like the full moon definitely got some things going for me - this is my first, but I can TELL that I am heading into the thick of things, emotionally and physiologically; there is this sense of "gathering-in" to myself.

I'm not "due" until the 25th, so my guess is that this month's new moon is going to do it for me.

darn my contractions went away

well the full moon didn't have much effect for me - but I'm still hopeful. I've always heard that it's the 3 days after the full moon that it has the most effect - so we'll see.

This being said - I did have more contractions/ back pain last night and this morning. Not sure if it was the full moon, or the internal they did yesterday. It's calmed down now though:

Oh man....thats why!!!!! I was up looking at the moon this morning at about 2:30....feeling very womb~y. I was woken at 5 with contractions and went to the washroom, again stopping to connect with the moon....it has been such a beautiful harvest moon....huge and orange. My tummy was feeling ill and I was having bowel nasty~ness. I got up at 6 and asked DH to stay home because I was feeling progressivly worse...sick and nauseous...I had a bowl beside me. I took a remedy for the tummy ills at around 10:00am and that has helped a fair bit. I've been having mild contractions all day but nothing really major. We checked my dialation and I'm a loose 4cm, which is more then 2 days ago by 1cm~ish.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up to much becuase I could very likely pre-labor like this for the next 3-4 weeks. I'm 37 weeks or so right now so if baby does come we can still have him/her at home. I'm trying to be patient!!
