Junk drawers

Do you have them? Do they get out of hand? I'm trying to clear out a "junk dresser!!" :

We have 2 and they're awful.

A few balloons left over from a birthday party, a few batteries whose deaths have not yet been confirmed, chargers for cell phones we don't own anymore, keys that go to who-knows-what, wallet photos from relatives I barely know, markers that are drying up, paint color cards from Home Depot, etc.

One of them gets shamefully crammed with the "don't have time to find a place for this" stuff. The other isn't too bad. Someday, I'll have them both cleaned out.

Someday.

I have one in the kitchen; DH insists on it. In it we have a candle warmer, screwdrivers, markers, and a whole bunch of other stuff. At least we do keep it to that one drawer....

We have 3 junk drawers. I just cleaned out one recently and realized it was basically full of pens that don't work and dead batteries. : I think that a junk drawer is a fact of life but occasionally you can sift out some of the more obvious garbage.

We have one too! I keep telling dh please get rid of the junk dresser so it doesn't build back up again. There is no reason to save all that crap or we could put the necessary stuff somewhere else (power cords, batteries etc.)

And if that isn't bad enough I have 2 junk drawers in the kitchen too. : : The sad thing is it's mostly stuff we just keep moving place to place, nothing that important. It needs to be gone through and properly organized in a little caddy or box and then nothing else. Random trash ends up in them all the time.

My mom always had a junk drawer or two growing up, she finally just tossed it all the last time she moved.

I made a Let There Be Light drawer in our buffet which now holds candles, batteries & light bulbs. It's worked out very well.
