The circumcision rate would plummet if... - Page 2

Hmm this got me thinking of the two stories I saw awhile back (not articles) but of some boys that died from sepsis as babies and the autopsy could not find why the boys got sepsis but didn't state if the 'boys were circumcised.

These boys were not preemies and I'm just curious at the possiblity.

Also, I know that my dad's side of family actually had two twin boys die at 6 months of age( don't know the cause because it wasn't listed on the family list but I been searching for it. )

In the state my ds was born in, we would have had to pay $250 out of pocket because Medicaid doesn't cover it. We didn't want to pay for something we could have had covered under our insurance (once placement had occured/been official). All along I wanted ds to be intact, and I got my way!

Circumcision at age 12? Now there's a horrifying thought! Just about the time a boy figures out what his foreskin is for and how much pleasure it can give him, it gets taken away from him.

As for remembering the pain, you can bet your bottom dollar he will!

If there is one way to make routine circumcision even more sick and twisted than it already is, performing it on a 12 year old boy would be that way.

When I have pointed out on various debate boards that Europians don't circumcise I have gotten some interesting answers over the years...

'So that's why Europians are so stinky...'
' no wonder you don't circumcise, your healthcare is so much behind ..'
'Europians are stupid..'
'Europian doctors should be educated...'
'that's why Europian men are all gay..'

And ofcourse my personal favourite;

' you are saying that because you are anti-American'

Other than I do think that if health insurances there would stop paying for RIC the rates would drop. Not only because of the financial aspect, but because it would be sending a message that it really is unnecessary.

Let me explain -- A lot of mothers who do circumcise say something like "do it now, so he won't remember it later".. At 6-8 weeks, that excuse would still be valid. By letting them live with a functional, essential body part, and the longer they remain not circumcised, hopefully the less the parents will want their child to be circumcised.

AND .... by circumcising later, the kids will hopefully say "You'll do WHAT on me?!?! It works FINE!" .. things they can't do when they're newborns.

12 years later, hopefully the mothers who do want to circ have had their opinions changed by the pro-intact community and have time to understand and learn that the foreskin is perfectly healthy. Someone who is born in 2007 would be 12 in 2019, at which point the circumcision percentages would be a lot lower (throwing out the locker room excuse) as well.

Maybe 12 years is too long, but IMO, 6-8 weeks is not long enough.

I have to agree with both points, lol. My neighbor's son was born with a heart defect and wasnt able to be circumcised until he was around 5 I believe. Since he was old enough, they told him about the procedure and asked him if he wanted it done to look like daddy. Apparently he grabbed his crotch, said NO!, and ran! lmao! They did, however, circ their younger son at birth....Luke (the older boy) told me once that they cut off his little brother's weewee and that he felt sorry for him. He was quite proud to have all of his parts
to Kia-didnt you know, thats why the European's are dying out! They arnt marrying and having kids because of all of those nasty, stinky foreskins. Oh wait, they are....hmmm....
Personally, I have never been to Europe (or anywhere, lol), but I have known quite a few European males who I know were not circ'd and they didnt stink in the least. In fact, they all smelled better than many of the US men I know

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR...

Once again, I ask myself "if the boy with the foreskin is functioning, WHY would they want that done to their #2? ESPECIALLY if it's "too look like dad"??"

I swear, that is the WEAKEST excuse in the book. Adult penises - BIG AND HAIRY. Over time, it'll "look like dad's" and the son won't give two healthy (yeah) about what his dad looks like.

Hopefully if they have more sons, their older son's actions will tell them NO CIRC.

Sorry for exploding, but why must modern humans fall back on that for the silliest of excuses?

3. Parents had to wait until baby was 6-8 weeks old.
4. Mom was required to personally restrain/strap down her son, and apply the the first wound dressing. (So the care provider knows she can do it properly, of course)
5. Both parents had to be in the room for the entire procedure.
My MIL had to hold her 1st son thru the entire procedure. It was a rural area and the hospitol did not have one of those nifty tie down boards. She said she was just doing it since it was just assumed - they didn't ask *if* they asked what time of day would be good. (she also FF since it was *better*)

Consequently her next 2 sons (my DH included) are intact.

It would plummet if Medicaid (our tax dollars) stopped paying for it. What Medicaid does, private insurance follows. Go to the link below and see if your state has stopped paying. If not, write your representatives to the state government!http://www.icgi.org/Medicaid_Project/index.htm

Go here to find addresses for your state legislators:

http://www.congress.org/congressorg/...ficials/?lvl=L

It comes up in my state every year, and they've always voted it down (CO). Maybe next year!
I told my sister that insurance companies had begun to stop covering it because it is a medically unnecessary cosmetic procedure. As luck would have it, she received a notice from her Maine medicaid folks announcing the date it would stop covering circ! That is what finally convinced her that it really was unnecessary.
(one would think the fact that our father is intact(father of 7) & having two happily intact BILs would be enough, but her dh's influence was strong)
