2. How old are you? 24
3. How old is your oldest child? 4.5
4. How old is your youngest child? 22 mos.
5. How much time do you spend with your children each week? All the time except for the few hours mentioned below:
6. How much time do you spend each week away from your children? I take one class right now (pre-nursing), so I spend four hours away from them on Mondays (DH is home, though) and two-three hours away from them on Wednesdays while they spend special time with Grandma. I don't see ds while he is at preschool, but he is only there for 2.5 hrs.

10. How long do you plan on being a SAHM? Not sure.. as long as possible. Definitely until we are finished having children and they are more independent. I may work a few nights as a RN once I finish school to supplement our income, but will still be a SAHM in my mind and to my little ones
11. What are your plans for your post SAHM life? I will be a RN and will pursue my master's in midwifery to become a CNM.

1. How long have you been a SAHM?
I have been a SAHM on and off for three years! The reason for this is that my husband gets laid off in the spring for about 2 - 4 months so i tend to work those months to help with the money situation.

2. How old are you?
I am 26 years old.

3. How old is your oldest child?
My DD is 6

4. How old is your youngest child?
Do I count the one in my tummy?? My EDD is in November but right now my DS is 3.5

5. How much time do you spend with your children each week?
Now that my DD started grade one I don't get to see her throughout the day so for her I spend from 3:30 pm (when she gets home) till bedtime at 9:00 with the exception of the time it takes me to cook supper. So with DD about 5 hours. With DS I spent all day with him but a lot of the activites he does at home are play doh, finger paint, and other crafty stuff...he gets 30 minutes of tv time and that is it! So i spend about 10 hours with him.

6. How much time do you spend each week away from your children?
Ummm...well because my DD is in school i spend that time away from her but I do not ever go anywhere without them...their dad works away from home (he is away for two weeks and then home for a week) so when he is home I might go get groceries without them!

7. What activities or groups do you enjoy regularly?
DS is in Kindermusik and a reading corner at the library...DD is also in Kindermusik and dance as well.

8. What do you like best about being a SAHM?
Hearing every funny thing they say or do....seeing their smiles everyday.....spending time with them and seeing how they grow....knowing I am always there for them.....sooooooooooooo many reasons why......reading a question on my DD's school assignment that says, "What does your mom like to do best?" DD's response was, "Staying home with me and my brother."

9. What is your biggest frustration or challenge as a SAHM?
Patience is hard sometimes......cleaning the house....lol.....ummmmmm.....bickering and fighting between the two kids is a frustration for me.

10. How long do you plan on being a SAHM?
hopefully forever.....lol....once the one in my tummy goes into grade one then i will consider a part-time job but nothing more.

11. What are your plans for your post SAHM life?
hmmmmm....haven't thought that far ahead......couldn't tell you!

We homeschool, so pretty much all day every day during the week. Most evenings, and most weekends.

I go out about one evening a week for anywhere between one and four hours. On the weekends, my parents often visit and while I'm in the same household, I'm not really responsible for the kids in the same way. I also leave them in the nursery care at the Y when I go work out.

We used to go to LLL, but 'my' group disbanded and I can't find a groove with the next nearest one. Right now, ds is taking a Mommy & Me swim class, and dd is taking some classes through a homeschool group. We meet up with other people at the park from time to time. Oh, and I nearly forgot - API. This is amusing (that I almost forgot), because I am the leader. :

Dealing with the fact that people blame me and only me if something isn't up to their standard, household cleanliness-wise. I don't feel, and never have felt, that housework is solely my job, especially since we homeschool on top of 'regular' SAHMing. I think that housework is a family affair because the whole family lives here... I just wish other people didn't assume.

At this point, until our youngest child is, at the very least, in high school, beacuse of homeschooling. Of course, our youngest child is still theoretical and not conceived right now!

1. How long have you been a SAHM? 5 years

2. How old are you? 32

3. How old is your oldest child? 5 years

4. How old is your youngest child? I'm 10 weeks pg, and I have a 22 month old--take your pick

5. How much time do you spend with your children each week? How many hours are in a week? Except for occasionally going to bed early or taking a bath, I'm with them all the time.

6. How much time do you spend each week away from your children? See above response. DH and I try to get a date once in a while, but we haven't for a couple months and then it is only for about 2 hours away.

7. What activities or groups do you enjoy regularly? Once a month I have a Mother's meeting at my DD's school that is pretty fun. I also like to go watch her swim once a week.

8. What do you like best about being a SAHM? Spending time with my children and knowing that I am raising them--not some childcare worker! I also enjoy not missing out on all the cute and funny things they do and all the milestones I am right there for!

9. What is your biggest frustration or challenge as a SAHM? I would like a break sometimes. I love my children and I love being a mom, but sometimes I would just like some me time away from the children if even just for a few minutes. Also, getting others to realize that I am a stay at home mother, not a housekeeper--in fact I hate to clean.

10. How long do you plan on being a SAHM? Until my youngest goes to college--so who knows when that will be. Well, unless then my oldest has children then I will probably continue to stay home to help her out?!!?

11. What are your plans for your post SAHM life? Being a good grandmother!!! Spending loads of quality time with my DH whom I admit I miss desparately. Traveling to places we couldn't go when we had the kids at home.
1. How long have you been a SAHM? Six years
2. How old are you? 36
3. How old is your oldest child? 6
4. How old is your youngest child? 2
5. How much time do you spend with your children each week? Hmmm, all of it?!?! Darn close.
6. How much time do you spend each week away from your children? Maybe 1-5 hours. Hopefully, I go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week. This summer my dh and I had a date night once a week- that was super! Of course, there is nap time now that my older dd is in school. I also really enjoy the hour or so after the kids go to bed to relax with dh.
7. What activities or groups do you enjoy regularly? Reading, walking, gardening, school work(I'm in grad school which I do all online).
8. What do you like best about being a SAHM? Lack of stress. I think if I was juggling work, school and family I would be a total mess.
9. What is your biggest frustration or challenge as a SAHM? I'm not a ubermom my nature. Being on a baby's or kid's schedule has been a challenge for me. During the day I sometimes get bored and wish I could just do my own thing. This is getting better as the kids get older.
10. How long do you plan on being a SAHM? For a couple more years, until the little one is in school.
11. What are your plans for your post SAHM life? I am almost done with my work on my masters in Library studies. I hope to get a job in a couple years at a local public library- maybe start out part time.
1. How long have you been a SAHM? 5 1/2 yrs
2. How old are you? 27
3. How old is your oldest child? 5 1/2
4. How old is your youngest child? 18 months
5. How much time do you spend with your children each week? Pretty much all of my time. 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
6. How much time do you spend each week away from your children? Usually not much, maybe an hr or two at the store. maybe. DH band plays a lot so if we have a babysitter then I get out for the evening. But most of the time we don't so I'm home with them.
7. What activities or groups do you enjoy regularly? Nothing now besides a local mom's group (online) We signed up for a homeschool group that meets weekly but it's for the kids to play.
8. What do you like best about being a SAHM? Seeing my children grow up and spending so much time with them.
9. What is your biggest frustration or challenge as a SAHM? I would say not having enough money to do all the fun things I want with the kids. Also not having enough "me" time.
10. How long do you plan on being a SAHM? probably for a long time. The plan is to continue to homeschool so I guess until my unborn child is a teen.
11. What are your plans for your post SAHM life? not sure. There is a million things I'd love to do but I'm not sure which I will pursue. It seems so far away I guess.
1. How long have you been a SAHM? For about two years, since maybe five months before dd was born.
2. How old are you? 29
3. How old is your oldest child? dd is 20 months.
4. How old is your youngest child? ds is 8 weeks.
5. How much time do you spend with your children each week? All the time. I don't have a job outside the home, so it's all me.
6. How much time do you spend each week away from your children? Right now, since ds is so small, I'm not apart from him at all. I try to get out to a bookstore or something every week though, and ds has been coming with me. When he's a little older and not nursing so frequently, I'll probably go back to leaving the house for an hour or so by myself.
7. What activities or groups do you enjoy regularly? LLL, a book discussion group that welcomes kids, storytimes at the libraries, AP playgroups
8. What do you like best about being a SAHM? I love the freedom we have. If we want to jump in the car and go somewhere, we usually can (keeping the kids' needs in mind, of course...). I love being with my kids and watching them grow and change.
9. What is your biggest frustration or challenge as a SAHM? Our biggest challenge as a family would probably be financial. My personal biggest challenge right now is that this time of year I really really miss teaching. I wouldn't want to go back to it now because I feel I couldn't give enough to my kids and a demanding job like teaching, but I still miss it.
10. How long do you plan on being a SAHM? At this point, I don't know. dh and I have talked in the past about me going back to work at some sort of job when the kids are in school, but now we're considering homeschooling at least for preschool/early elementary, so we'll see.
11. What are your plans for your post SAHM life? I know I want to get my master's degree OR I want to get my middle school certification. I don't know if I want to go back to classroom teaching or if I want to be more specialized. I wouldn't be opposed to developing some kind of business from home, either. It's still pretty up in the air.
