I have two daughters a 2 3 mo and a 10 month old my 10 mo has had some vaxes and my 23 mo has had all of them for the first year I was on the fence about vaxes when my oldest was about 9 months and now I am horrified that I had her vaccinated She appears fine and hasnt had any major visable reactions thank god. My question is what now ? I wont be continuing to vaccinate but I am wondering if there is anything I can do about the unseen problems that may exsist I am really upset about my decision, and even more upset that dd got the chiken pox vax w/o my permission!! someone help I am really beating myself up over this. :

i have 2 boys who are fully vaxed. there is nothing you can do about vax you have consented to in the past, just as there is nothing i can do about my first 2 sons being fully vax'ed and circ'd. we can only move forward and do better (my baby is no circ'd or vaxd). please don't beat yourself up.
there are many knowledgable mamas on this board. so just start learning!
and welcome aboard!

: My first two boys are circ'd and partially vaxed (one to 2 years and one to 18 months). The quote is, I believe, "When you know better, you do better." We have noticed issues with ds#2 (I think between vax, my ob telling me paxil was perfectly safe, and major dental I had done 2 weeks before delivering), and for both we have switched our diets to a traditional foods based ... supplying them with tons of good fat (coconut oil, cod liver oil, raw milk, raw/orgainc/cultured butter) and as much organic as we can.

Please don't beat yourself up ... if you are worried about possible, hidden issues, definitely research the heck out of getting their bodies up to optimal immune function and health. The sticky up top titled "Nutrition/Immunology" is a great place to start. You might also check out the "Traditional Foods" subforum in the Nutrition and Good Eating forum. Learn more (if you don't know already) about alternative methods of health and healing (homeopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic, cranialsacral therapy, etc), and research mainstream medicine and it's (negative) affects on the body (for instance the use of tylenol/motrin and antibiotics). This forum and the women here have a huge wealth of knowledge. Welcome and I hope you continue to post, ask, and share.

Dont' beat yourself up. The best thing you can do is really look at your nutrition, lifestyle, priorities and consider every day a new day, where what you do today, can gradually lay the foundation for a better tomorrow.

You're not alone -- I discovered this board a few months ago when my then-10-month-old developed ezcema. I too am horrified and deeply regretful about his vaccinations. Even worse, he got the hep B with thimerosal (we are in Africa and the vaxes still have it). I could kill myself over that one. And I keep blaming myself for not having done more reading when I was pregnant.

We live in Africa, but I refuse to give him any more vaccinations -- no mmr, no yellow fever, etc. I'm in the process of education my husband to get him on board.

We're all on probiotics and cod liver oil now, and I just discovered a safe local source for raw dairy. Plus, as DH is Japansese, I'm gearing our diet more towards the traditional Japanese diet. We all seem to do so much better on it. It's definitely a learning journey.

My oldest grandson was vaccinated up to 16 months when his 4 yr. old cousin was diagnosed with autism. Dd then noticed some of the same symptomes in her son as the autistic cousin was showing. That was when we started researching vaccines...

After we looked into the issue of vaccines and allopathic medicine in general, we were shocked.

This grandchild never got another vaccine and was never taken back to another doctor for anything. He is now going on 9 yrs. old and perfectly healthy and intelligent.

My second dd's two sons are completely vaccine free.

When we know better we do better.
