Can't decide between the two. I'll have a 2 year old, and my dh will probabably be doing the laundry. Thoughts?

OMG If i make it until 100 i dont think i could ever where depends. I cant stand any kind of bulk anyways. With DS1 i didnt do cloth and i just used the pads from the hospital which worked great and then a OTC type. THis time a friend gave me hospital grade maternity pads

I do like the net undies though . I remember the hospital was so stingy on giving them

I used infant prefolds for the first 2 or 3 days, then moved on to my regular cloth pads.

hmm... are depends comfortable?

Why depends? Just because they're bigger? The pads at the hospital are very thin but VERY wide and they give you those mesh undies that stretch like crazy; they can also fit an ice pack for the first 24 hours. My hospital used preemie disposable diapers soaked pretty well with water and then frozen. Worked wonders! The big flat pad first, then the ice diaper. After 24 hours, I just used overnight maxi's. I've never used cloth maxi's actually. As i remember, you bleed a LOT in the first several hours after birth, then its just like a really heavy period with big clots (though it smells much different!).

Last time I actually took a pkg of my favorite brand (always, the size 14 and up overnighters) with me to the hosp. I wore them with my own comfy granny panties. They worked great. I hated the hosp pads and mesh undies: they sliped around too much for my taste. I would rather wash a little blood out then wear them. I do highly recomend frozen or ice filled baby diapers to reduce any perineal swelling for the first 24-30 hours.

I used depends and I liked it. The first night for me I had alot of bleeding and clots and I was happy not to get anything on my clothes or the bed. and they held in ice packs or frozen pads great. I will probably buy them again this time. My dh would not be happy washing that kind of laundry but thats just him lol.

I always experience about 48 hours of little or no bladder control after giving birth, so I went with the Depends. They itch : Go with cloth if ya can.

Mama cloth is the best No weird smells, no leaking and I bled for a shorter period of time. Not to mention, so much better for Mother Earth.
