Please join me in my countdown at my job ;)

89 days to go today

I like my job most of the time. It's challenging and interesting.. I like most people I work with. THe problem is that it is so freaking demanding!!! For those who know what investment banking is, you can imagine the he!! of being an analyst for the past 2+ years, with a now 17 month old dd. I looked around for other jobs when I found out I was pregnant, but that is when the job markets started going to he!!. I stayed, they modified my schedule a bit and here I am almost 2 years later.

We get a nice retention bonus for staying for 3 years. Since I am so close, I'd be nuts to walk away now. DH takes care of dd during the day and teaches martial arts at his academy at night. He is barely braking even still, so we NEED my job. So I am counting down.

want to join me? Anyone in the same boat - just counting days until your contract up or some other deadline?

I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing after June 30th.. either working part-time or "normal" business hours. I'll still be working. But just the idea of not having to be 'on call' 24/7 and be considered a slacker for only working 10 hrs a day makes me
so excited!

Well, I quit my job in Feb. but I know how exciting it is, even if it's a job you love! I hope you find something equally interesting but normal hours.

I hope everything turns out well for you!! I'm envious that you are leaving.... I'm hoping to land a part-time job soon...keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck with everything! It sounds like you are making the absolute best choice for both you and your family!

I'll join you. I'm hoping to change my schedule to 4 days a week around that time, too. Countdowns are great for getting through the day!

88 days :D

yeah, I actually have a nifty excel program that calculates weeks, days, minutes and seconds for me

shows a few nice graphs - how much times left compare to how long the original commitment was for, etc.

Normee, so are you cutting down on hours or squeezing your existing hours into 4 days?

if I end up doing something full-time with regular business hours, I hope to be able to work from home half the week, but not sure if that'll work

I want to cut down on hours and work less days. I currently work 5 seven hour days so 35 hours. I would like to either work 4 eight hour days or better yet, 4 seven 1/2 hour days. I have been pretty flexible in working around the other admin's schedule so I'm hoping when her special stuff is over I can get this approved. It would be the end of June.

Your spreadsheet sounds cool!

still don't know what I'll be doing, but 4 or even 3 days a week would be SOOOOOO great!
