I reached my breaking point!

My skin, that is...

43cms (fundal height) and 44 inches around. And I probably have weeks more to go!
I now have stretch marks on my belly.
My first ones on my stomach ever. It's vain, but I was actually rather keen on having had three babies with no marks on my stomach - alas I can only say I've had two.
My first went overdue and I got no marks! DH was sitting on the couch with me today and said, "aww, stretch marks!". I thought he was kidding, since he was smiling, but then I realized he was serious. He counted six on my lower belly (where I can't see anymore) and I made him bring me a hand mirror so I could check myself. Is it horribly sad and pathetic that my heart actually sank a little when I realized he was right? I got SO HUGE with my daughter (or so I thought) and went overdue with her and only got a few tiny marks on my butt and some on the undersides of my breasts.

Dh was just looking at my lower belly two days ago when he was palpating and there were none, so they literally all popped up yesterday or today.
The ones I got on my hips (which never bothered me) broke open and started bleeding last week, too.

I said to DH that if this baby isn't over 10lbs I'm going to feel real cheated. :

Don't worry too much about it Babs They usually fade away pretty much. I didn't have any until about 2 weeks before my EDD with DD. It was the day of my baby shower and I was carrying a mirrored tray. I couldn't believe it either. I had a gorgeous belly : (not that bellies with stretch marks aren't gorgeous...). I was really surprised to see the marks. But now I have fun with them because they look like flames going up my belly, like a Biker chick .

ur lucky to have just a few. ds gave me a ton the last month and mine r always red and purple and they were just starting to get less noticeable when i got pg with dd! i will never look the same and i felt sad too.

Wow to not getting any stretch marks before getting this big! This is the only pregnancy where I haven't added to my collection

If its ant help at all my belly got to 44 inches around at about 36 weeks and didn't get any bigger. My fundal height got to almost 44 too before dd arrived so your measurements sound really familiar!

I thought I wouldn't get stretch marks either and I made it until about 8 months. And man oh man, I got a lot just overnight!! They have faded quite a bit, but I have a bunch on my tummy, all down my thighs and sides, butt, all over my boobs and chest, and even under my calves! Oh well, they are my battle wounds and well worth it!

And BTW Babs, you are one of the most beautiful glowing pregnant mommies I've ever seen, don't worry!! :

Babs, I'll trade you the stretch marks for my verygross (varicose) veins. They are bad and I will need to get surgery for them someday if I ever want to be seen in shorts again. At least stretch marks are disguisable as flames!

I'm not in your EDD (obviously) but when I was pg with Tracy at 13 weeks I had my first strtch mark. Benjamin noticed it first and opinted it out. I got all excited cause it meant baby was growing. 4 days later he pointed out I had 4 more. Makes ya wanna hit them doesn't it.

I don't have any stretch marks as yet... That I can see, although as you pointed out Babs you can't see the underside of your belly so it's possible there are some hiding somewhere I can't actually see.... BUT on either of my sides just above my hip bone I have a red dot about the size of my little fingernail.... So I don't know if that counts.... But it just looks weird... I have 2 dots and they're in EXACTLY the same place on each side So I dunno what thats all about!

mine were quite light from last preg and was hopin i wouldnt get more this time (started out quite a bit lighter in weight this time) ... but alas, here they are at the very end. really only just above my belly button, and man! they kinda hurt!!! feels all stretchy and tender but at the same time lost a little topical sensation in the same area : ah well, will be over pretty soon huh

See, I was a GIANT stretchmark by the end with our first. I didn't think I would be able to get anymore. WRONG! With my second, instead of going up and down my belly they went left to right!!

Oh, and mine are perfectly symmetrical They look like FLAMES!

Gotta find the humor in them or they just suck!
