Talk about unfair!!

I finally went to L&D to get checked out to find out if all these "practice" contractions were making any progress. Turns out I'm only a fingertip 50% effaced and -1 station. With my previous two I was 4 cm by now but hubby was also around to help with that... Turns out I had high protein in my urine but my blood pressure is fine and no swelling so I had to do a 24 hour urine collection for protein and turn it in tomorrow morning and get more blood work done. The unfair of this whole thing is that while I spent 5 hours in L&D last night one girl walked in right after me left a urine sample in the bathroom went to her bed and said "I have to push" and had her baby on the spot...: then while I was there 2 more delivered. I am so anxious to see my new son and have something positive to focus while while DH is away.

I was wondering how you're doing...and if you delivered...
I would jokingly say 'serves you right to go in to L&D' hahaha It is always disheartening to feel like your body is making progress, and then be checked and NADA.
Remember this--Ina May Gaskins once took a woman to the hospital at 8cm...after the Dr checked her, the woman was back down to 4cm. Your body may have advanced, and then regressed just because you were in that hospital setting and were a little nervous about how much progress you had achieved. Don't worry my friend...relax and relax and relax as much as possible...your body will then open up and bring forth your babe!
