Vacation:Will my kefir grains be ok?

I'm going away for 8 days. If I leave my grains in a qt of milk will they be happy? I don't want to try to take them with me as we are flying. I don't think the security guys would understand what kefir grains are.

I've really neglected mine at times (longer than 8 days) and they've been fine. Might be worth drying or freezing some though, just in case.

I left mine in milk in the fridge for well over a month. They were fine, and actually growing.
