...what's your recipe?

I have my raw cow's milk source!!! This pregnant mama is psyched!
So, an egg yolk, raw milk, some honey? and cinnamon? Do you stir it or blend it? If I can't finish it, will it keep in the fridge for a few hours?

TIA!

Here's mine, fwiw...

One C milk, three eggs, a healthy shake of vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves (I like spices, what can I say), and a spoonful of honey (sometimes, sometimes not. It's actually fairly sweet without).

Whiz that in the blender till its good and frothy, then pour in a slow
stream with the blender going full tilt a tablespoonful of melted coconut oil.
(Pour slow or you'll get chunks. Bleh)

I make mine at 630 and it usually last me until 1 pm, when I have another dose for lunch. (It's the current craving )

I make both servings at the same time, and suck one down while I make the other (exactly the same recipe)

Throw it in a mason jar and pop it in the fridge when I get to work, and voila!

Lunch is served. (so yummy, and healthy, and it feels like such a sinful treat too. I love it.)

Actually, the main reason I love it is because that slowed my weight gain during my pregnancy when nothing-and I mean nothing else would.
I ate normally (really! I'm not just saying that! My hypercritical hubby who freaked when I hit 150 lbs (total, not gained! ) even says so!)) and gained a little over 50 pounds in not quite 6 months. Then I started drinking egg nog and it slowed way, way way down. Now it's finally starting to go the other way. (The stupid thing is that eating that twice a day is more calories than I was getting before. go figure.)

So Laurel, you use three full eggs, not just yolks? And thanks for sharing your experience. Very interesting to me.

yup whole eggs.(just cuz I'm too cheap to separate them)

I don't have access to raw milk or farm eggs, so it's all the nasty store bought stuff.

But some is bette than none, and I have a good immune system, so I don't lose any sleep over it.

Though I do break the eggs on the counter and not the edge of the blender, so the shell cant contaminate the inside of the egg.

I just whisk about three egg yolks along with about 10 or 12 ounces of milk and add a little bit of raw agave nectar or raw honey(the agave nectar whisks in better and you need less because it is so sweet). I was using cinnamon -- but it was giving me hot flashes -- it is a really "warm" spice...I'm going to try some grated nutmeg instead next time.

I could drink these all day, and I'm not pregnant...though I am bfing.

I heat the milk slightly and add some vanilla. I separate an egg, save the white for merengue, add honey to yolk, then slowly mix in warm milk (1 cup). The proportions are forgiving. It will keep in the fridge.

I've done 1 cup milk, 1 whole egg, 1 TBS Rapadura or Raw Agave Syrup (or fav. sugar/sweetener), and cinnamon and fresh grated nutmeg to taste. Blended on medium, to get frothy, then added in a ice cubes to chill and give a slight 'shake' texture.

A mom I used to babysit for when I was a teenager made these for me (back then it was white sugar) and I LOVED them. I have 'fancy' eggnog recipes, but this is like a eggnog flavored 'julius'. Speaking of, I sometimes add in OJ and or pinapple and make that when the mood hits...I've used kefir instead of milk and get a double whammy, with probiotics too.

Darn it, now I'm craving an eggnog

Well, I'm headed to Vegas for a conference where I'm sure I'll indulge in plenty of NON NT treats. I'll try out some of these when I return. OMG the milk is divine, so I can't wait to try them! Anyhow, thanks for sharing, ladies. Keep any ideas and suggestions coming!
