I've been around here for a few months now and I have figured out most of the acronyms in your posts and the symbols in your signatures. Now I have to ask, what the heck does crunchy mean?

I think that there should be a beginners guide to things around here.

I never heard of it till i moved to texas. they also say "granola" Most of us would fit in that category as alternative living type of people. I'm sure there are others who can define it better.

There is a stereotype that all people who are into hippy-like, healthy, organic, whatever stuff eat lots of granola. I think it came from the veggie movement in the 70's, but not sure. Anyway, since granola is crunchy, anyone who is into "alternative" ways of living/eating is subsequently called crunchy.

Crunchy has a lot of variances, though. I consider myself kind of crunchy but I do shave my legs and wear sparkly things. My favorite color is pink.
I think maybe I qualify as crunchy but not truly granola.

Hmmm... I suppose I'm crunchy, but, I do have my soggy spots. I, too, shave my legs and underarms, paint my toenails, use hairspray (gasp!), love chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Oh no, don't toss me out completely, I made peach cobbler tonight! It was very yummy, but it had white flour and sugar in it (double gasp!), am I really out of the crunchy club now?

I'm a crunchy christian, and you couldn't spot me out of a group. I wear make-up, I'm a jeans and whatever else I got girl. I look like I'm twenty with lots of little kids around. If I could live in the country and be self sufficient I would, suburbia is not my cup of tea, but for now I have no choice. So until they kick me out I'm going to seek God and live according to His values as I interpret them....if that makes me crunchy hippy then give me tree and I'll hug it!

I guess I should have been able to figure that out on my own. I was just confused because several people's tag lines say things like "christian, conservation, crunchy" and I wasn't sure of the meaning after seeing that.

I like that this little family on here has all types.

I am a crunchy Christian!.....I just consider myself crunchy compared to mainstream. I know that I am not as hardcore as some other people around here though.

Welcome Fermentula!
