hi,

is anyone else out there teaching a 2 yr old the four questions? dd1 is doing it in hebrew, yiddish, and english. wel, hebrew, because that's the way it's done. yiddish, because our custom is to translate into yiddish, and english because most of our guests don't understand yiddish or hebrew.

she knows the first one and we've started on the second one.

anyone else doing this?

Not that I care, 'cause I don't, but why would this go to The Childhood years. Shouldn't this be Spirituality?

Anything to keep from cleaning, you know.

About the only part my two year old can do is "Ma".

I don't think I've ever heard an English version, but I have a haggdah which lists Spanish, French, Amharic, Russian and some others, so maybe we'll all try reading some of those. My mother-in-law speaks 7 languages or so (not Amharic!).

OT, but what other fun stuff do you do at the seder for the kids?
We do "plague charades" (plus throw toy plague type things at Saba), Eliahu brings some prizes to leave in a basket by the door, a big matzoh-puzzle where each child gets a piece when they ask an interesting question and then they all have to put it together, lots of supplementary reading and puzzles for my older kids, and some more. We'll have 5 kids 9 and under, so if anyone has any ideas...

Also, if anyone hasn't seen the hagaddah CD that JEMM puts out, it is fanastic, and I highly recommend it!

Pesach Sameach!

We have a "plague kit" (sunglasses for darkness, toy frogs, bubble wrap for boils (ewww), etc... you take these out as you read.

We get together with a big group of friends the second night and do creative things.

For example, We sometimes do a "dramatic reading" where eveyone gets parts and acts out parts of the story. (The little kids are lambs and they say "Baa" when cued.) It's very fun.

Last year we did "Exodus Jepordy" where our hosts made up a game board about the whole Hagadah and we played on teams. The kids loved this.
