Ticking Time Bomb...

Aparantly that's me...geesh.

From the grocery clerks to my ILs who worry every time the phone rings and its us to fellow PTO members to DH's boss who told him that he could "work from home" until the baby's born (yeah, and mess up the house while he's here )...aparantly everyone around me thinks I'm gonna drop this child at any moment.

I mean 'cmon I'm not even 'due' for a week and if you go by my longest pg the baby won't even be here for another 10 days, and it could even be longer!!!

Anyone else???

Yeah..."Anytime now!"

I've been hearing that for WEEKS and WEEKS.

Um no...the baby will be born when it is ready, and I feel strongly that is another week or two from now (not from the WEEKS ago when people were freaking out about even laying eyes on my ginormous body).

I would really get irritated with people when I was 30 weeks pg and they're saying "Oh, due any day now!" Um no. Thanks for wishing a premie and a NICU stay on me. :

I wish people would stop speculating. Just be patient. And please, please please, let ME tell YOU when I feel that it's getting to be close to time?

Ugh.

dh took my kids to scouts tonight and he said all night he had to answer the question "baby here yet?"
UGH
My due date isnt even until the 30th. i've started screening phone calls and refuse to answer the door if I dont know who is coming over before hand.
when I run errands people are constantly saying "any day now huh?" or walking past and saying to the person with them "wow, she is about to pop anytime".
I"m so tired of it.

I have been fielding these calls for weeks. They started out scattered and not too annoying... rather pleasant, actually... and then got more and more maddening, until we were getting call waiting beeps on top of call waiting beeps and I was starting to lose it. Hey, whaddya know, it sounds like contractions!

Anyway, I did not answer the phone yesterday. After I had a total meltdown Tuesday night, bitched out my mom (who was calling literally 8-10 times a day from *work* even), yelled, screamed, and sobbed, my husband recorded the following message:

Hi. You have reached (blah blah), home of Susan, Jeremy, and Teddy, who as of Tuesday afternoon Sept. 12 has not yet hatched. We appreciate your call, and if you'd like to leave a message, please feel free. We've entered a serious nesting phase, so we hope you won't be offended if it takes us a while to get back to you. We'll be checking our voicemail regularly, so if you are calling about an urgent matter, we'll be in touch soon. Thanks for calling.

I thought he did a great job of sounding appreciative and welcoming while sending the important message to LEAVE US THE *&^% alone. What a diplomat! And it's really working. I actually felt almost sane today.

I have mixed feelings about it. I am 10 days past my EDD. And the phonecalls are driving me absolutely crazy. Also the "you haven't had that baby yet?"
On the other hand, I guess I'm just trying to entertain myself, but I love it when people ask me when the baby is due and I can say "10 days ago". They are so totally freaked out that they don't say anything. Plus the guys that work in our same building (all tradesmen) are totally freaking out and convinced that I am going to go into labor and call them for help , even though DH is always there too. I love freaking people out with my pregnancy, I know it isn't very mature of me, but it makes me laugh.

When I was pregnant with DD I would walk the driveway every day, and the farmer that farms this land was so freaked out that I was going to go into labor in the driveway (and I guess just drop the baby out right there that he would stop everything he was doing so he could "keep an eye on me". (This time he turned the cows out so I can't walk without being stampeded, the punk )

I am 7 days past my due date and having the same experience. On the up side, I took the cat to the vet a few days ago and the vet's mouth dropped to the floor when I told him how far along I am. It was the quickest wait time I have ever had there. He wanted me OUT before the baby dropped out!

I make it a point to tell everyone, "It could be any min now, or it could be another 3 weeks. You never know." This tends to shut people up & generally they say something like, yeah I guess so. That being said I got 3 phone calls yesterday asking "how are you feeling?" Atleast my family knows better than to say "have you had the baby yet" I'll have to hurt someone when that happens!!!: My mom, my mil & Dh do panic a bit when I call them which so far is a little funny because they don't get real worked up, I can just tell they hold their breath a bit at first.
