first u/s tomorrow morning and I'm scared to death about it

My first u/s is tomorrow morning at 10:30. I'll be 6 weeks, 1 day.

I wish I could be excited about it, but I'm really just stressed out. We've had so many early miscarriages, and it's so hard to believe that this may actually be IT, you know?? I'm terrified of bad news. I don't think that I can handle that again.

My boobs have been super sore for the past couple of weeks. However, they weren't sore at all today!! Of course my mind automatically jumps to the worse conclusion. On top of that, I took yet another HPT today (I'm so embarrased to admit how many of these I've taken in the past few weeks) and the two lines were exactly the same color. A fews ago when I took one, the pregnancy line was 10x darker than the control line. Again, I'm thinking the worst.

While this is our 5th pregnancy in the past 18 months, it is the first time that we've gotten far enough along to have an early u/s with the hopes of seeing something. With the miscarriages, I always started bleeding just a few days after AF was due and I got the + hpts. I've never lost one this far along, so I'm trying to be optimistic because of that.

I'll update tomorrow about the u/s results. Please think good thoughts if you could. Thanks!

I wish the best for you! I know it is so hard after even one m/c to trust in your body. I had one in June and now am expecting again for 5/13. It is hard not to be guarded. Its also so sad how even your relatives are toned down with their congrats. I'm praying for you and I hope you can find peace at your appt. Just be blessed you can conceive!

Well, it didn't go as well as I had hoped, but it wasn't as bad as I feared, either.

We did see the gestational sac with an embryo inside. However, we couldn't see the heartbeat. The baby was measuring correctly, but my RE said that he was worried because the sac was measuring a bit behind.

So - I'm sad that we didn't see a heartbeat and that the sac is small ...
but I'm grateful that we got to see the sac with our baby inside.

We go back on Sept. 20th to *hopefully* see the heartbeat.

Not in your DDC (or any, for that matter...had a miscarriage that I found out about a couple of days ago) : . Anyways, Erica, I just wanted to say that my doctor said that the earliest a heartbeat can be detected is 6 weeks 5 days. Sooooo, even though the sac was measuring a bit behind, there's still a really GOOD chance that everything will be fine. I'm praying for you. No person should have to experience this even one time, let alone more. Sending tons and tons and tons of positive vibes your way.

Argh. Why does life have to go like this? Why can't things just be easy????

Anyway, it does sound very very positive and I am sure that when you go back next week you will see a lovely thumping heart. I hope that the days go quickly between now and then.

I had an US like that with my first DD. She is now 12. Try not to worry.
