Help me find this book! Garbage, New York City, Scavenging..

This is driving me nuts! I read this book a while ago and I really need to find it again. I think it was fairly new when I read it, so it's probably more than a year old but not more than 7 or 8 years old. It was basically about stuff that was thrown away in New York City. One section was on these guys who dug up old privies and found old bottles and sold them to make a living... and there was a section about a man who collected thrown-away books and sold them to make a living... and a section about some people who ate these fabulous meals by dumpster diving... it was a great book.

Sound familiar to anyone?

MONGO--Adventures in Trash by Ted Botha

My husband gave it to me for my birthday last year. He had heard an interview with the author on NPR, and knew I'd love it. Awesome book!

Our personal experience with Mongo could have made for an interesting chapter...
