IVF in September/October?

Hi Everyone. I'm new and have started my 2nd IVF attempt on the 10th with birth control pills for 21 days and suprefact starting the 21st and my first b/w will be Oct.05 to see if I can start the Puregon. Just wondering if anyone will be joing me thru the process?

Hey there-

No replies, so I thought I'd just wish you luck! I'm doing an ivf cycle soon too, but finished up with the ocp already. I started lupron on day 14 of the ocp and gonal-f and repronex 4 days ago and am planning for a retrieval date toward the end of this month. I have another blood/us tomorrow. I'd love to have the transfer be this month too, so I could cancel my nongroup insurance policy in september and not have to pay for October also. But really, it is not that big of a deal.

This is my 2nd ivf cycle also and i thought the ocp was close to the worst of the whole deal. They made me feel so queasy. Hope you are feeling ok.

Starting Oct. 5 too

I just saw your post today. I am starting my follistim on Oct. 5th as well. I am currently taking birth control pills until Oct. 1st. This is also my 2nd IVF try. I miscarried last cycle at 7 weeks. I did not stimulate well. I only produced 6 eggs. 3 fertilized and 2 continued to divide. Those 2 were transferred. I was on Menopur and Bravelle before. I am hoping this new meds protocol will increase those numbers significantly.

Hi, I just saw that you had replied. Thank-you, I'm glad I will have someone to talk to thru this.What are your reasons for having to go to IVF? I have PCOS and no tubes. I have my appt with my RE today to get my calander, I start suprefact tomorrow, stop BC on the 30th and have my first B/W on Oct.5th to see if I can start Puregon & Repronex. I'm so excited I hope it works this time. My first Ivf failed because I had a blocked fallopian tube and found out after that it was hydrsaplinx which killed of the embryo. Do you how many you may transfer.

I want to know what ocp is too.....?

I wish you luck. When exactly is your transfer? Do you know how many you are going to transfer? What is ocp? I have never heard that term. BCP makes me really quesy, it didn't my first time around. I'm really excited to start my injections so I'm that much closer to meing pregnant!

ocp- oral contraceptive pill or birth control pill. Sorry for the confusion! Nothing new or exciting!

I did IVF last oct/nov and got pg. Miscarried in Feb (fetal growth stopped at 7 weeks like you deslynn428. I'm sorry.) Took a nice summer break and had a lot of time to run and bike, play with my kids, etc. Now we are trying again. I dread the early am blood/us visits because it is hard to manage to get 1 kid on the school bus at 8:15, 1 kid to preschool at 9:15, and drive 45 minutes for the appointment which must be before 9:30. We also currently have a 5 week old foster child living with us. In 2 weeks it will all be done but for the waiting. : And the progesterone shots in my behind.

We are only going to transfer two. I am scared of having twins because I'm not sure I could do it. (It being the whole kit and kaboodle. Pregnancy, childbirth, the constant nursing for months and then actually being able to meet the needs of 4 kids for the next 18+ years.) Last IVF cycle we were not given the chance to transfer more than two and at that point we would have done 3. But now that I had 6 months of some "me" time, I'm feeling a little resentful of never having a chance to pee alone again. In some ways I am ready to move on and can accept a family of 4; but my partner is not. I may also be putting up walls to protect myself from the awful pain of miscarrying in Feb, and knowing that it may happen again.

As for the queasiness, it gets better the longer you take them. So hang in there!

we would like to transfer two as well. On my first IVF we could only transfer one because I got OHSS and was on bed rest for 2 weeks. This time if I'm hyperstimulated I am going to transfer two regardless of what the RE says. I'll just make sure do drinks lots of Gatorade

Well i had my appt yesterday and it looks like i wil have my ER around the
15th and transfer 17th or 19th. I'm so excited I just don't want to stress myself out like i did last time.

I'm sad to here about your loss on your first IVF do they know why you miscarried?

As for my queasiness it has gotten worse. i did not have this bad last time but i'm sure it will get better!

I have endometriosis and hypothyroidism. Last cycle we transferred 2 eggs. That is what my RE recommends for women under 35. We will probably only transfer 2 this time as well since I got pregnant last time. I am hoping to produce more eggs this time. Since I only produced 6 eggs last time, my goal this time is to produce twice that many so that we would have to cryopreserve for future use.

Since you had hyperstimulation last time, did you produce enough eggs to freeze and use in another cycle?

Good luck with your meds. Do you take your bc pills in the morning or at night?

With my hyperstimulation last time i produces lots of follies, and got 13 eggs. i apparently have alot of eggs so i can easily hyperstimulate. This cycle i hope not to but i have a feeling i will as i am on repronex as well.

How are you cycles going? I started my suprefact las t wednesday and stop bcp this Saturday...yeah!

Have either of you ever gotten really bad pains in your lower abdomin? i've been getting them ever since i started the bcp as well as extreme nausea.

Sorry to hear about you miscarriage in Feb, do they know why it happened? Have you used IVF for all of your children?

This is only my 2nd attempt at IVF. My two kids were each conceived on the frist try with clomid/iui. The baby is a foster child.

I had my last blood/us today! I don't have all my numbers in front of me, but I have 4 at 18mm, 6 at 16, and another 8 or so above 14. Then about 4 zillion under 14mm. Retrieval is set for Thursday morning at 8am, transfer is on Sunday. I had great numbers on my last ivf, but only 3 progressed, so i'm keeping my hopes low.

My dp travels for work, and needs to call in sick so that I can have a ride home after the retrieval and to give me a chance to take it easy on the day of the transfer. That means she needs to call in sick for a 5 day trip!! I psyched just to have her home for so long!! We have not told any family or friends that we are trying.

18 harvested. 9 progressing. Transfer 2 tomorrow. Wait 2 weeks and then either wait another 14 assuming I'll miscarry or start a new game plan. And to think some people make love to add to their families! How is it going for you two? or anyone else joining in.

to you all. I´m going to start with Puregon around october 20th (depends on my period. I´m not taking the pill).
This will be my second time por an ifv. The first time was 3 years ago and i have a wonderful 2-year old child. So, girls, it´s possible. I wish you a very good luck.

Thank-You for you reassurance. How many embies did you transfer your first time? I had an U/S today and have 5 follies on the left and 6 on the right so far. The doctor says things are progressing great. I don't have to do puregon tonught only the Repronex and then .25 Puregon tomorrow. It looks like I'll have an ER on Monday the 16th and transfer 18th or 20th.

Kaykay'smom- Things are starting to happen now!! It goes so slow that month on bcp, and then it seems to go so quick. How can they know your retrieval date ahead of time? I only got 36 hours notice for my two IVF cycles. Keep growing those little follies.

I'm very moody and irritable! I think half is hormones/progesterone and half is the uncertainty of my life! I'd like another kid (Clearly ), but I am also struggling with the new foster baby in the house, and am scared to death that I may have twins of my own. I'm supposed to find out friday pm if this cycle is still working, but I can't figure our how to get in for the am blood and still get the kids to where they need to be, so I'm going to have to wait to do it on Saturday.

mumm-I hope at least one of those embies stick. Do you feel any pregnancy signs yet? In regards to me retreival date they estimate that is when its going to be by the way my follies are growing. It could change but they'll know more tomorrow when I go for b/w & u/s. I hope things work out for you so you can get your results this week. How is the foster baby doing? OH, and your right things to happen very fast, I can't believe I'm already here. Did you do any bed rest?

Please Help Me-I went for b/w & u/s today and my follicles are still growing but the nurse just called and said my E2 level has dropped. They have increased my Puregon and kept my repronex the same. She said everything should be okay but I am worried to death. Has anyone heard of this before?
