IVF in September/October? - Page 4

Still Pregnant. With Twins. In Shock (which is stupid since we clearly knew the chances! ) I'm really scared. Not of the actually pregnancy or even giving birth to two, but of managing a household with 4 kids, of which two are infants. Oh. My. : : : : : :

My internal dialogue is-
My house is small. My partner is never home. We have no money. The kids I have are ill mannered brats. I had a great triathlon season last season and was thinking of doing an ironman in 08. My life was pretty good; I was getting some time to myself. What was I thinking??

I figure by next week I'll have come around to a new way of thinking and realize that only the first two of the above are true. (well, and I did race pretty well this summer ) I've got a lot to learn about twin pregnancies, birth and how the heck to ever get off the couch with two infants. When will I ever not be nursing? Will I ever sleep? I need to buy a new car!!

I can't believe how calm you seemed now that I've got the same news and am a basketcase! How are you, btw? Thanks for reading my rant- I really am mostly sane!

OMG Mumm! Congratulations!!
I am so happy for you. And don't worry you will do just fine! That is so exciting. Are you going to find out the sex? I know what you mean about finances, we would have to get a van and then the thought of two in daycare and the cost : Well we'll know tomorrow as my u/s is at 11am and I'll let you know.

So do you have any symptoms like extreme nausea yet?

Thanks.

We are going to find out the sex since we'll be having another us anyway. I really want at least one to be a boy for the sake of my son. The last thing the poor kid needs is 2 mothers and 3 sisters. Yikes....

I was really in shock and didn't hear much the mw had to say yesterday. I'm actually feeling much more positive about the whole thing now. Just a new challenge. So much to learn.:

What are you going to do for prenatal testing? I'm over 35, but am going to skip the amnio. What about the quad screen or the MFM? My other kids were hospital births where I had no fear of unnecssary intervention, since they were so straight forward. Now, Ugh. I am a little scared that they will be quicker to jump in. I really do not want a c-section.

I'm off to the library to check out some twin books so I can start to figure it out. I just looked in the multiple section here, and don't even understand some of it!

I feel fine, but tired and sometimes slightly queasy. Nothing that interferes with my life though. Is your u/s tomorrow for viability? You can't tell the sex yet, can you?

Well I went for my U/S today and I am pregnant with a singleton! : I am so happy and excited and feel 100% better now. The fetus is measuring right on schedule and the heartrate was 171. My doctor said everything looks great and they are booking an appointment with my obs/gyn. She said I have to be careful as my ovaries are still huge 12.7cm and 11.9cm and some of the follicles are about 77mm. I was surprised it was one as everyone thought it was twins even some of the doctors and nurses. They said it looked like there might of been a second (perhaps an empty sac, she couldn't say for sure).

So were you able to find alot of info on twins? I know a few people with twins and they say its not much harder than when they raised there singletons, you have nothing to worry, you'll do just fine! I have heard of some women delivering narturally so you never know! Have you told you kids yet?

As for the U/S I don't think we acn find out the sex until about the 20th week. I am so happy and feel as though a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that I know my baby is excellent!
