My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...

This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...

This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

If you Google Montessori AMI you can find the 6-12 centers. There are only a few (4 I think) in the US. I would post more, screaming baby, gotta go...

I have either seen presentations by or read articles by the elementary trainers at Washington and Milwaukee, both were very inspiring and have a reputation as great trainers. If you have the liberty of choosing where you want to go, I would suggest going on the ERIC database where you could search for articles by the different trainers in the NAMTA journals. http://eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/Home.portal
You could also ask to speak with alumni so you could get a better idea of the personality/specific interests of each trainer. Every trainer brings his or her own specialties to the training, so you could search around a little to find a good match. For example, the strong suit of one trainer may be mathematics, while for another it is music, etc. Of course, you will know the training is a solid foundation and will be essentially the same as they have to meet AMI standards.

Thanks for the suggestions !
I've been on the "net" for a little bit now, doing research etc, sticking with the AMI/AMS training centers, don't know much about the others.
And exactly so.......having to do followup phone calls to see if the web site is "up to date" with all the current info and staffing. So true about finding out who's "doing the teaching", as one school sponsors but brings in teachers from all over. They were very good with listing the teaching staff names.
Speaking with Alumni is my focus now, no better referral than someone who has been there and done that :>).
Would love to get into montessori research down the line, too ! :>)
take care
