how long did your breasts leak?

For the love of goddess, when will my boobs stop leaking?! I know one may let down when I'm nursing off the other for the duration, but I'm 4 weeks pp now & have to wear a bra & disposable pads day & night because I randomly let down all the friggin' time. No nursing camisoles or cloth pads for me at the moment

What's your experience?

I am from Sept ddc and had this same issue with my previous babies. It took about 2 months for things to equalize and settle down. Then, my letdown wasn't as strong and I stopped leaking like a faucet. It is good you are in that boat though, because it is hard to have the opposite... low supply. Good luck to you!

Honestly I was leaking randomly when I weaned my dd at 13mths when I was 4 mth pg It did get better but I still wore breastpads most of the time when I was going out.

Have you looked into wool breastpads? I have some lana ones and they're awesome; aoft, breathable and very abosrbant

Oh and I leak and have low supply, so leaking doesn't always=high supply

Oh Jen I did that with my first forever - seriously, I randomly let down multiple times at work throughout the day. I wore breastpads for probably the first 6 months (not kidding, I didn't go back to work until 4 months and I was still wearing them then.)

This time, I rarely wear them now at 6 weeks, but the Lana ones are totally awesome!

I leak like crazy for well over a year. I actually got used to big wet spots on all my shirts.

I think I finally abandoned nursing pads a few months ago, about 2 YEARS pp.

Wow, that's really interesting that it can vary so much!

Regaring the Lana pads... how many pairs o big leakers need (I know they're not cheap)? I have to change my Lansinoh sposies every 2 hours or so (I have thrush & am *trying* to staf extra dry- what a battle!)

Thanks!

I had to wear breast pads for nine months with my first!

I'm not in your DDC, but I wanted to say that my ds is 14 months, and I still leak!

Steph I wore breatpads when I went back to work when my dd was 10mths old, the couple of times I didn't I had the wet circles

At home I don't care I either have wet circles or bm spots

Jen, you really do only need 2 pair of Lana breast pads. I was a super leaker with my dd and I got the eklesta (sorry I can't spell and I'm too lazy to look it up, but the super lana pads) and I don't remember ever leaking throguh them. A few times when I took one off it was quite wet but it never felt uncomfortable.
Try checking the tp for them. I got some for a good price there

thanks, I think we're finally getting close to getting over the low supply hurdle It hard because we had such a rough start so I've been playing catch-up the whole time

I can count on 1 hand the times I have leaked. I have a bunch of disposable pads that I'm not using. If anybody wants them, pm me.

I'm with you...

Same here... and I hate wearing a bra. I went braless whenever possible. and now, here I am wearing a bra all day and TO BED!!! Yuck! I have to because I leak all the time...
Sophia is now 4 weeks old, and I don't think my leaking will stop. I leaked the whole time I nursed Abigail, which lasted only 7 months (2nd pregnancy dried up my milk prematurely).
I am waiting for a nursing bra I ordered to come in, because I have only one! I have to wear a regular bra in order to wash the nursing one, and it's not easy nursing in a regular bra.

I won't wear a bra to bed. I put a prefold on the bed under my chest. When I'm nursing I put another pf over the other boob.

I tried that last time...apparently I move around too much, because when I'd wake up, the prefild was all bunched up under me, leaving painful indentations in my skin, so I tried a waterproof crib pad. I had to wash it a lot. Besides, prefolds don't seem to keep the bed dry. I would soak it, and then it would get the sheets wet.
