If you're doing what's right for you and/or your child you are NEVER nuts -- maybe gutsy -- but not nuts.

Best of luck and know that I, too, am holding you in my thoughts.

BTW, where does this wonderful doctor/uncle live/work?

Keep us posted.

Must've had the baby by now. Tell us the story, when you are up to it.

no baby yet, just tired of waiting and having issues with my oldest-he is driving me nutso: I will post more as I feel up to it-but, the

Well, if you haven't had the baby yet, I would add my .02. I think you should call the friend, even if you don't know her very well. She offered, I think most people wouldn't do that very lightly. If things don't go well and you are looking back on this time, you will think your reasons for not calling her are pretty insignificant, compared to what's at stake, while I would imagine you would be unlikely to regret if you do call her.

Thinking of you.

still waiting..........I did get the speech at my last appointment-"if you haven't had him by your next appt. we will be scheduling an induction"..........blah blah blah

also-she recommended that I come into the hospital when cxts are 8 minutes apart-to which I laughed (out loud unfortunately because she gave me a dirty look LOL). I will be going to the hospital as soon as I realize I am in labor, but I am NOT going in until I am good and ready because they will just stick an IV in me and put me on a bed somewhere-I am not stupid LOL. I figure since I am more than likely driving myself (long story there) and it is 45 minutes away, I have plenty of time to get there in the early stages, then go for a nice walk around the hospital campus (learning hospital) until I am much MUCH closer to delivery.......that way there is less chance of getting the old FTP after a few hours of laying in bed with an IV stuck in me.

What are they going to do anyway...hunt me down LOL. I would feel more secure being right there with the hospital on hand "just in case" but not actually under their care until necessary........so that is my plan

You can totally do this!

I'm sending my wishes for peaceful labor and a speedy delivery.

They are probably looking at you as an accident waiting to happen. I wouldn't even set foot on the hospital premises til ctx are 2-3 min apart and 60-90 seconds long( you will probably be around 7 cm by this point, but could go back down to 4 or so if they scare you bad enough. I have seen this happen! As i noted in another post, it is not unheard of for a mom to have the baby's head in the vagina, and then the doc pushes it back up into the uterus and sends the mother to the operating room. Proceed with caution. hugs to you....

you can do it!! have you tried contacting DONA .. there may be some women who need births and will do it for free. also try posting in the midwives forum to see if anyone is in your area who will attend your birth.

good luck to you!
