Good call on Noah and the copy--lack thereof.

I haven't read good reviews for The Ring 2, but I think we're both going to have to rent it anyway

Yeah
I have a pretty high tolerance for "bad" movies.
I just checked at the library--no luck. So, um, guess I'll have to pop by Blockbusters later.:

OMG
SPeaking of which...why has no-one mentioned the Lair of the White Worm?!?!? All time awesome classic bad horror film!

My husband and I just watched Kairo (Pulse) last night. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the scariest), I'd give it a 50!

There's no sex, no violence, no gore, little blood. It's just downright scary!

The worst horror movie that I have ever seen was Poltergeist III it ruined the other 2, it was the worst of the trilogy IMHO,

My favourite is between,The Shining and The Exorcist

*Gently, of course.

This is my kind of thread! :

I'm a horror film junkie! :

-The Exorcist
-The Silence of the Lambs
-The Shining (not the Jack Nicholson one, but the ABC miniseries that came up a couple of years ago)
-The Hills Have Eyes (both the Wes Craven original and the recent remake - mutant cannibals in the desert? Pass the popcorn! : )
-The Night of the Living Dead
-Dawn of the Dead (both the George Romero original and the recent remake ... I'm a sucker for zombie flicks )
-Sean of the Dead
-The Ring (DW says this movie scarred her for life )
-The Grudge
-Jaws
-The Exorcism of Emily Rose
-28 Days Later (best zombie movie EVER!!!)
-Village of the Damned (not the hokey Kirstie Alley/Christopher Reeve remake but the 60s original)
-Child's Play (I HATE living dolls!!! )
-Misery
-Carrie
-Dracula (with Bela Lugosi)
-Bram Stoker's Dracula
-Frankenstein (with Boris Karloff)
-The Pit and the Pendulum (with Vincent Price)
-Fallen (you'll never listen to the Rolling Stones' "Time Is On My Side" the same again )
-Deliverance
-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Tobe Hooper's original)
-Wrong Turn
-House of Wax (the Vincent Price original, not the Paris Hilton remake, although seeing Paris Hilton take a spike through the head is surprisingly satisfying )
-The House of a 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects
-Bubba Ho-Tep (Bruce Campbell as an aging Elvis battling a life-stealing mummy in a Texas rest home - CLASSIC!! : )
-The Wicker Man (not the recent Nicholas Cage one, but the 70s Christopher Lee)
speaking of Christopher Lee, any of the Hammer Horror films from the 60s and 70s starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing
-Alien and Aliens
-Gingersnaps (which turns the Little Red Riding Hood mythos on its head)
I could go and on, but I think I'll end with the scariest movie I've seen in a long time:

Herbie: Fully Loaded

ok. In the last week I've gotten several scary movies from netflix:

Saw - I actually liked it! I thought it would be too gory, but it was fine for me.

Saw 2 - hmmm. not as good as the first one, but it was ok - and now I'm excited about going to see Saw 3 in two weeks.

The Descent - I went to the local dollar theater and I wanted my money back! Someone else in this thread mentioned that the creatures reminded them of gollum, and I agree. It was a little cheesy, but it was ok. The ending was kinda strange and everyone was laughing at how she was driving out of there.

Stay Alive - I don't think this was all that scary, but I did watch it alone in the dark, so I was scared. I think the scariest part is that once you've seen the entire movie, if you go to the main menu you can choose a character and everything and start the game (I watched it on a dvd player, but I'm guessing if it's in your pc you can really play the game). It really creeped me out and I quickly turned the tv off!

CHALLANGE!!!!! Find a Movie that you think will disturb me. I will rent/buy it. Then I will post if it disturbed me or my DH (We both have the same tolerance levels btw)
well, I think the Talented Mr Ripley was very disturbing. Made me feel weird afterwards.
seen that?

This is what I love about the month of October - there are scary movies on almost every channel. SciFi and AMC serve up a lot of great ones!
I read about a movie with Donald Sutherland that takes place in Venice that's supposedly creepy and I'd love to see it. I gather it was made in the 70's and had something to do with he and his wife losing their young daughter.

The Omen (with Gregory Peck - not the cheesy update with Julia Stiles. That one makes me want to :Puke it's so bad) But that little kid in the original film is SO creepy!

Has anyone seen Ghost Ship? It's on my Tivo, just can't get myself to watch it unless it's really scary, I don't feel like wasting my time if it's dumb...haha

I also have Saw, maybe I should just watch that first since it's gotten some good reviews.

i saw ghost ship but really it doesn't stick in my mind!! Maybe it wasn't that great!!

Me too. The blood and gore, slasher films don't phase me (the spoiler part I mentioned above is the only part of The Hills Have Eyes which got a reaction from me - the rest was stupid). I laughed the whole way through Jeepers Creepers. Was bored during Hostel. I just it's just personal preference - I truly think they're dumb. But give me a psychological thriller or supernatural movie and I'm hiding behind the blankets. Looooove them.
