Is this possible? (gluten - ?)

My son is gluten free, as it affects his ability to regulate his emotions and behavior. Recently (yesterday, actually) he's eaten a few pieces of "regular" bread that I baked here at home. He had no reaction like the ones he used to have to storebought breads.

What's up with this? Any ideas? I was totally shocked that he didn't have a compete meltdown like I would ahve expected after eating that bread.

Sometimes reactions are cumulative...my ds has no reaction to soy the first try, but if he has it three times a week for a couple of weeks he's uncontrollable. I'm sure there are other explanations too.

That is what I was thinking too. I have read that if you are sensitive to a food you can maybe have it 1X per week but if you eat it in large quantities you will start to feel the effects.

That's what I was thinking, too. I wonder , though, if there's some difference between storebought bread and homemade? My son will react to storebought bread every time, but doesn't react to the bread I bake here at home.

It's a Mystery!

Is there a possibility he's not gluten sensitive, but has a problem with a preservative or additive in the bread that wouldn't be present in homemade?
