i think his character would be better off that way...show more depth...and he deserves it

I don't think he wants to be single. I think he really DOES want to be with Meredith but also doesn't want to deal with a "failed marriage" so he's torn with that. I don't think he loves Addison... I think he just feels like "why not give it a try, since we're already married." Single is always an option, but there's no drama in a single relationship...

I think he doesn't really know what he wants but since he's willing to try and stick it out with Addison he still is the martyr. Yeah he did have a relationship w/ Mer while he was married but it was because of Addison's actions. If he leaves Addison while she's trying to make it work it makes him look as bad as her and he losses his martyr status... but if he keeps pretending to want to make it work he's still "the good guy who is willing to give it another try, even though she slept w/ his best friend".
Does that make any sense?

i think what bothers me is that meredith should have said "you make your choice.... stay married or don't and quit talking to me (screwing me) while you have a wife......

really

her decision is hers, but she ought not to have to decide between a guy who doesn't quite excite her enough and a guy who will divorce his wife IF SHE CHOOSES him and parade around with her like a happy couple if she doesn;t

I would really love to see Addison move on. I understand she cheated but when your married
(like I have room to talk, I'm single, never been married) and your working on things shouldn't
you be actually WORKING ON THINGS. If Derek doesn't want to be with his wife, then he just
shouldn't be. But then there wouldn't be the drama for drama tv.
Truthfully if I were Addison I would have been glad Derek caught me with McSteamy and just
let Derek walk.
But you just know that they have to keep us hanging on with the will they or won't they of Derek
and Meredith. If they got together, the show would end. They won't actually happen until
the last season. That's tv for you. teehee.

I am a big GA fan and thought the season finale was great but wasn't so impressed w/ this premiere. I just expected more. I felt it was a bit disjointed from the finale, I don't know why. The whole plague storyline was lame. I did like Izzy's method of mourning but hope it isn't now just "all better." I also liked Derek's speech in the kitchen-- I thought that was pretty hot. But then again, I'm a Mer/Der fan : and thought the finale was hot too. :
I really really hope Addison isn't pregnant. In fact, I dont' think anyone should be pregnant now.
And does anyone else find the Callie/George thing kind of weird? I like Callie's character but I just think they make the oddest couple!
Also, I found the conversation between the chief and his wife really sad. That poor woman gave him so much of her life and in the end she doesn't even take priority over his hospital. I think yay for her for being so strong.

Yes Addison cheated on Derek, over 2 years ago. He started something with Meredith then when Mer found out he was married(which he conveniently left out) she left him and their relationship was done, except Derek wouldn't stop. He stayed with Addison because it as the right thing to do, not because he wanted to. He has been stringing both Addison and Meredith along. When Meredith moves on HE can't handle it.

He needs to do some major growing up. Just because someone cheats on you does not mean you get to cheat on them and string them along. It is very much that 17yo highschool attitude that Callie was talking about.

He isn't choosing between Addison and Meredith anymore, he wants Meredith to choose. He doesn't want to be the bad guy and make the decision.
