i totally see what you are saying and agree...
but i think there have been signs all along that he knew, he just didn't want to believe. her final lagging at the altar was the straw that broke the camel's back for him. that pause he took at the door... i think he decided in that moment that no matter what the situation was, it was over for him. she needed to *be* there. and the fact that she couldn't come up with her own vows, or wing it- imagine if she had been reading them off her hand at the altar? i mean, we all have little notecards that we use, but that seems different to me.

but i totally hear you about her having to shoulder the burden- it will be interesting to see where they take that.

anyone know when the premiere is? : i have to admit, it's the introduction of Lexi Grey that has me the most hooked right now, though i think there's a lot of predictability in that route- meredith having to interact with her dad again, some weird tension and attraction with derek, not being the only 'legacy' anymore, even though Lexi is not her mother's daughter.

Unless, they just kept getting and recylcing people and the ones that you really followed worked for the hospital and stayed and were the teachers. That would be interesting.

I thought the same thing - when the new interns came in at the end when George was cleaning out his locker, I paused and checked 'em out, because I'm sure that they are going to play a large part in next season's shows. Obviously, they have to keep Mer on or they would have to change Grey's to Whomever's Anatomy. Unless they keep Lexie on forever instead.

Oh, and super impressed with Sandra Oh's acting - that end scene in the apt was amazing.

Oh, and re: the Burke leaving thing, it pissed me off too - here Christina had jumped through all these hoops because it was important to him even though it was anathema to her, and he decided, after all she sacrificed for him, that it just, eh, ain't gonna work, so never mind. He's been a control freak from the beginning, and he ALWAYS plays the cold shoulder/I'm so not speaking to you right now card when he's pissed at her. That infuriates me. Like when he was recuperating from his surgery and neither of them would speak to each other. We know that was typical for Christina, and I'm not condoning it, but for Burke to refuse to speak to her? Just ridiculous. And as always, she was the one who caved at the end. And it's sweet that she was always so willing to try to meet him in the middle, but it seemed as if she was always the one who ended up compromising while he got what he wanted. I'm sooooo over him.

I don't think Christina will be blamed for the non-wedding. There were witnesses in the foyer to see that it was Burke who ended it. I don't think it(who left who) will really come up in the next season anyhow

I totally agree about Burke in the foyer - you've all said it perfectly - what a jerk. But then...maybe Shonda did that in light of how he is IRL and wanted to sort of give that some light in the show as well? :

I think they had Burke do what he did because when they filmed, they weren't sure if they were going to keep him or not. (because of his enourmous stupidity) I bet TR Knight was threatening to leave as well, so Shonda gave both their characters "outs" on the show, in case we woudn't see them next year.

While I wish that Meredith would just be happy, I guess the whole point of the show is that she thinks she is just damaged goods.

I so have a little crush on Alex...he has grown on the show, I like him! Still a little jerky but he's got the compassion now.

I think he definitely should have wait longer to get married to her because she was so obviously not ready for it. I also agree that she loves but he was too late to deal with that matter effectively. Instead he realized on the day of the WEDDING that he couldn't go through with it. What an idiot!

I have to say I am going to miss Burke! I love him and Christina together. So sad that he is troubled as a person. But I love his character. Tina~

: I am going to miss the Burke character as well. He seemed more interesting than some of the other characters that seem to be bumbling around all the time with little rhyme or reason.

Generally, it seems too bad that everything is getting mixed around since the show was going well with the characters that were there. Though I guess some things need to change or the show would get dull.

I just caught up on the whole season, I stopped watching halfway through, though I had them on my DVR. I'm sick today, so I caught up, I had missed two episodes, the one right before the finale, so that sucks, I guess I'll get the dvd at some point and watch them.

What really puzzles me is this - at some point earlier in the season, the chief is talking to bailey and he tells her that he has to pick someone to be chief because she isn't ready yet - like basically he thinks she's the best candidate once she has enough experience, but yet she doesn't get chief resident? Weird.

I don't know about the spinoff, that episode kinda bothered me, though the alternative medicine guy was cute. The surfer guy though - UGH, I don't understand why boys now a days think that haircut looks good. I'm sure he's a good enough looking guy, but I couldn't get past the awful hairdo. Course then again, I can't stand all the crappy 80's fashion that seems to be in now a days either, soooo....

I felt so bad for Christina, Burke is a jerk, and after the really cool vows he told in the OR, it seems really dumb. I mean anything could have delayed her in getting down the aisle, a tear in the dress, etc - but he ASSUMES she's hestitating. Though I don't understand why she told him 'I had a freak out' - she just panicked because she lost her vows, which if she didn't have them memorized was somewhat understandable I suppose.
