A sincerely insane husband...

Thread Starter
It's DH's birthday and we were out having dinner... he says he wants to get "this" (ie. having babies) out of the way. He'd like to have the next one in a year.

Ummmm... as in get pg in 3 months?????? He sees my shocked (and definite "no") face and says "No??".

IS HE INSANE???!!

(Don't get me wrong, I love my babies and they are blessings and true treasures and I don't take the ability to have them for granted - truly - but to propose pg to a 4.5w post-partum mother? Is that even legal??).

I'd go into the sanity-leaving reasons as to why this would be a bad idea, but my number one reason at this time is: I have non-stop screaming children for at least 6 months... who the HECK is going to be dealing with a first trimester and that? Certainly not me... no way, I would loose my friggin' mind. I think I am with just my 3 right now. (Plus, my milk dries up instantly when I get pg, and I make a promise to nurse for a year.)

He's crazy I tell you, absolutely and totally mad. There is no way...

we THOUGHT we were going to start working on #3 right after #2 was born but the reality hit now we're thinking we'll start trying when hes 2.

He should be locked up, that is seriously wacko! lol I wouldn't even begin to consider having another child until the little one is at least a year old.

Maybe your DH needs to be awake a bit more at night that would change my DH's mind really fast, that or a whole day alone with the kids

I agree with the PP-a day AND night alone with the kids should cure him of his ideas to have another so quickly. It wouldn't be so easy on you physically either-don't most docs and midwives recommend at least a year before TTC again?

Men have no idea... seriously.

Oh my! Yes, definitely insane. I couldn't even imagine . . .

My dh said something similar to me, telling me that #3 should happen more quickly (there are 3yrs between #1 and #2.) I, however, am thinking 4yrs sounds good!

And, I agree, one full day & night would change my dh's mind.

I'm a freak....

I just asked my dh last night when we could have another one. :

Sounds sooo much like my husband right now, LOL. I told him I won't worry about birth control while we're in Paris, or around July 4th next summer (since I've always wanted a spring baby), but I think that's enough Russian roulette for me for a few years!!

Agreed, that if my husband actually walked a day in my shoes right now he'd be begging to be made sterile immediately.

my dh has been doing tons, he doesn't have a choice with twins. Last night he even did night duty all night with both babies. He does more than I do some days You know what he said that if we could afford to have #5 (and we knew it would ONLY be #5) he would want another baby in a heartbeat. He says he wishes he could have done more when E was a baby. He did a lot then, but with one baby there was a lot less baby care to pass around

I think I would deck my dh if he proposed such a thing, lol. We are done so he knows better, but if he even had the insane idea it would be gotten rid of quickly!
