? Making wolf costume from "Where the Wild Things Are"

Ok, so I'm feeling ambitous and I was thinking that I might try to make "Max's wolf costume" from "Where the Wild Things Are". I was thinking of just sewing , ears, claws, and a tail on a toddler size union suit. If I could find a hooded union suit, that would be perfect. Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions or know where I could find a hooded union suit? I am thinking that it would be fairly simple and not tooooo time consuming. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I've not seen hooded suits but you could easily make a hat.

I'll bet you can make an adaption from any McCall's or Simplicity child's costume pattern.... I would love to see pics - it sounds really cute! Here is a pic of my Isabel's costume last year.
