Elisabeth Anne has arrived!

Okay, I don't even know if I want to post a birth story. It really has been one rough experience...

Anyhoo, she was born at home in the water at 1:42 a.m. on Saturday the 16th. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.

We had trouble nursing the first two days because she couldn't nurse right after the birth. I tore so badly that the midwives had to stitch me up right away So we are now catching up Man oh man...I am a milk machine over here! I can't stop it from coming out!!

I tore very badly, in 4 places. I haven't been able to walk and sitting is horrific enough. Nursing is very challenging because of it. Yesterday my temp got up to 101.7, so we discovered I have a bad infection in one of the tears. So I am using a topical antibiotic and some numbing foam which doesn't do a thing...

I still haven't been able to change her diaper myself because I can't walk to her room. Thank goodness for my mother and dh. They have been doing everything. It's so hard and emotionally challenging not being able to care for my baby. I've had some major meltdowns.

So anyway, I may or may not post a birth story. It's been a rough 5 days and we still have a long way to go.

Here is our little cutie pie!!

Sending lots of good healin' vibes your way. I know how you feel, with regards to not being able to care for your baby. I was in the same boat after Isa's birth and it was very challenging. BUT it does get so much better, give yourself time to heal.

And of course, congratulations on your beautiful baby girl!

She is sooo beautiful!!! Congrats on your birth!! Sorry to hear about the pain.

Have you tried cold witch hazel peri pads?? might be soothing. Also adding some calendula tincture to the warm water in your peri bottle for during/after any bathroom visits.

Sending you healing thoughts and much love!! I understand your pain!! With my first I tore pretty bad too and felt like i was kicked in the crotch by a horse for a good while. It does get better!!! Pretty soon you'll be up and about again, don't rush yourself!!
