That's too funny - we must be soul mates! How does your dp react to your musical inclinations? Mine does this thing where he hangs his head and slowly shakes it. He has enjoyed a few of them though
I think my dh thinks it is cute b/c sometimes he tells someone about it almost proudly..
What is truly funny is my best friend lives in Calif (bay area) and she does it too! So, when she was pg with her first baby, I went and lived with her for about six weeks to love on her and be doula for her birth. Her hubby got irritated with us b/c then we were both singing all the time and he said he felt like he had back-up singers for his every thought! poor guy..

Everytime I'm about to post a question someone comes by my desk and actually expects me to work!! Sheesh! Don't they know I'm pregnant, and therefore exempt from all this nonsense??

I've loved reading all the awesome questions and answers here! Gotta say, this has been one of the more lively Spotlight Threads yet. I actually DID have a really good question on the tip of my fingers, but was interrupted...and, well, you know how that works with preggobrain.

Yikes! Here they come again! LEAVE ME ALONE PEOPLE!

Sorry, I'll have to return later with some really juicy questions. So consider yourself warned, Paisley!

OK, I'm back!

It's the end of the world as we know it...how would you spend the time? with who? Where? What would you regret not having done/completed? What current worry/concern do you have that would seem frivolous in this scenario?

Along those lines...you're making up a time capsule to be buried in your backyard. What would you put in it? (no living things, please...or anything that used to be living! )

If you had to have one song stuck in your head for all eternity, what would it be?

How much respect did you just lose for me?
I still respected you when I got up this morning. :

What day do you WANT this baby to come?
It's not so much the day of the week for me, but the time of day. I'm pulling for a day/afternoon labor instead of the overnight labor I had with ds. Staying up all night doing all that work and then the crazy newbron schedule that followed really threw me for a loop (I don't do well with sleep deprivation).

What day do you THINK s/he'll come?
On a Saturday or Sunday. I'd have to go look up my EDD to give you a date.

How cool is it that for my day-late birthday present I got a nephew??
That is very cool! Is this your first time being an Aunite? Ds was born the day after my 23rd birthday, and I fully plan on telling him when he is older that if he doesn't get me something for my bday then I won't get him something the next day for his.

Anything come out of your nipples yet?
Not so far this pregnancy, but they did produce 2.5 years worth of milk and that was very cool.

What's the best part of living in socal - and you can't say your family. Best thing about the location. If you can think of a single good thing.
Let's see, is it the unaffordable real estate, the stuck-up people, all the high school kids in their brand new BMWs from Mommy and Daddy? No, that's not it. Um, the weather's pretty nice most of the time. Yeah. Oh god, I'm so bad.

What're you going to be for Halloween?
A pumpkin smuggler! (As in pretending my belly bump is the stolen goods under my shirt. )

What should I be for Halloween?
There was a thread in TAO with ideas. My favorite was to wear an evening gown and a tiara and make a sash that says 'Miss My Period'.

If you were up here, would you come to my Halloween party? (And since you're not up here, am I even going to bother having one? )

I would so come to your Halloween party! I would even offer to bring stuff and help decorate! You should have one anyway, even though I'm not there this year. It will be good practice.

Sure, why not! We have a whole 'nother day. How far do you think we could take it? Maybe I should start posting one word per post.

We could start a choir - The Super Sing-Songy Women! - and go on tour. I would totally wear one of our concert t-shrts.

How old are you?? I need to know if I'm falling in flirtatious silliness with an older woman!

Would you like me to write you an exemption note? This being official presidential business and all.

Do the math smarty pants! (Check my sig.) And don't you dare call me old or I will have to cancel my rsvp for your 2008 Halloween party!

OK, I'm back!
Hey, that wasn't too bad at all.

It's the end of the world as we know it...how would you spend the time? with who? Where? What would you regret not having done/completed? What current worry/concern do you have that would seem frivolous in this scenario?
Well, once I got the R.E.M. song out of my head... I would want to go somewhere beautiful in nature, up in the mountains probably, with dh and the kids and just be there in peace with each other until it was time. I try not to have any regrets but I'm sure there would be some - little things I meant to do, things I wish I would have said while I had the chance, that sort of thing. I think going through something like that would make almost everything else seem trivial.

Along those lines...you're making up a time capsule to be buried in your backyard. What would you put in it? (no living things, please...or anything that used to be living! )
I would put in some photos of our house and families, some of ds's artwork, all of our handprints, some tiny clothes and socks from the kids, letters to ourselves in the future, a list of what we hope to achieve in our lives by whatever year it is to be opened, maybe a videotape of us on a typical day, and a twinkie just to see if decayed at all.

If you had to have one song stuck in your head for all eternity, what would it be?
Oh boy. I know several that it would NOT be! Probably a Dead song, maybe Eyes of the World? I might finally figure out what some of the verses are saying.

It's ok though, I forgive you. Preggo brain and all.

Do you like peanut-butter banana smoothies? How sad is it that since we got a blender for our birthday those are practially the only thing I want to eat? And how terribly sad is it that since we don't have any milk and thus I cannot make one I'm sitting here starving thinking "I want a peanut butter-banana smoothie!"?

Had any interesting cravings so far? Any interesting aversions?

Do you have a cell phone? Were you an early adopter, or a long-rejecting technophobe?

Describe your dream house. (Ok, that wasn't really a question - um... describe your dream house, please? )

Can you feel your uterus? Where is it in relation to your navel?

Speaking of that most suggestive of bodyparts, any piercings, there or elsewhere? Tattoos?

What's your hair look like? What has it looked like over the course of your life? Ever shaved it all off?

Sick of all these questions yet?

Damn! I even skimmed the thread to see if you'd dropped clues anywhere!

calculating...

Hah! You are the older woman! : Not by much, but still. :nana:

Oh I am so sorry that you are out of milk. Congrats on the new blender though! I have had this craving for a mint oreo (well, with Newman's organic sandwich cookies of course), but I can't quite bring myself to actually purchase the ingredients for it. I do like PBB smoothies too though. Especially with chocolate.

I have had a big thing for fried food. French fries, fried mozzarella sticks, yum. I seem to have an aversion to any type of food in quantity - if there is more than 2 of it, I can't deal with it. Kind of sucks when we have 4-6 giant avocados falling from the tree every day.

Do you have a cell phone? Were you an early adopter, or a long-rejecting technophobe?
Yes but I held out for a long time. I don't really like to use it. And come to think of it, I haven't seen it in three weeks. Hmmm...

Describe your dream house. (Ok, that wasn't really a question - um... describe your dream house, please? )
I really want to have a cool, eco-groovy house. Do you ever read Mother Earth News? Like the ones in there. Passive solar and panels with a grid inter-tie, solar hot water heaters, wind or water power as applicable, a greywater system, root cellar, extensive organic gardens. I'm not so much attached to the looks of the house (on the outside at least) as much as the functionality of it. I would love to buy a huge chunk of land somewhere, build a smallish house on it and leave the rest undeveloped as sort of a preserve.

Can you feel your uterus? Where is it in relation to your navel?
I can feel it on my own but am not so sure about where the top of it is. I just got measured at my appt today though and it is one finger width below my belly button. Which is singleton range for those of you keeping track.

Speaking of that most suggestive of bodyparts, any piercings, there or elsewhere? Tattoos?
Currently I have one hole in each ear and one hole in my left nostril. Only one tattoo so far. It's across my lower back, cherry blossoms with roots that weave into celtic knots and the Kanji for laugh, dance, music and soul surrounding it.

What's your hair look like? What has it looked like over the course of your life? Ever shaved it all off?
Curretly it's quite blah (and then there's also ds's description of it in my sig ). Shoulder length, golden brown with some layers in front. I almost always have it in a ponytail. In the past it's been all shades of red, black, and blond. Never shaved it all off, but I had it is a bleach-blond pixie cut in junior high which is pretty close. I let it grow pretty long after that and ended up putting it into dreadlocks in college.

Sick of all these questions yet?
Nah, but starting to look into voice-recognition software. Seriously though, wouldn't that rock for after the babies are here?

Oh my god I want your avocados! ()

And I don't care what silly things like measurements and midwives say, I'm so teasing you about twins until one and only one comes out!

Oh, wait, must add a question... What are you having/did you have for dinner tonight? (Profound, no? )

Heh, good luck getting those avocados! I've been trying for quite some time, but unfortunately I'd have to take quite a loooooong road trip to get them. Maybe next time I'm out to visit my sis I'll have to come steal some!

Ok, so speaking of avocados..... What is your favorite thing to make with them? Or do you eat them right off of the tree like an orange??
Alllllllright Ben's Mother! Just because I havent been posting lately, you think you can steal MY questions? Do you?
Jeans or skirt, thong or granny pants - SHAME. ON. YOU. HAVE SOME NOODLES.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
