Susan? Hmm, is anyone surprised that she was all shallow and materialistic about her wedding? Doves and a chocolate fountain! Whee!
I don't see this as being shallow & materialistic at all, especially a chocolate fountain. They're very popular for all sorts of events & weddings. She mentioned that she didn't want her friends picking apart her wedding as not being up to the same style as Bree & Gabby's which is something that would have happened. if anyone is materialistic & shallow it'd be Bree & Gabby.

So Bree is pretending to be pregnant to raise Danielles baby when she gives birth. I bet Danielle did not get pregnant by Edie's nephew but by her teacher she was sleeping with, and the baby is going to be born black and then what will they do? Bree and Orson can't produce a child of a different race.
yes, and buy a baby?

I also think Gabbi will get pregnant and assume its Victors only when she tells him she learns he's sterile and he knows she cheated. Then her and Carlos will get back together.
yeah, she is definitly going to be pregnant. Even if she was told she is infertile dr's are wrong all the time and she would not be the first infertile woman to end up pregnant.

Victor's Dad, is that really his Dad? They look the same age.lol

I doubt Edie dies. I don't think she used that scarf either, she would have had to have known it wouldn't hold her.

I agree! BTW: that actor (the dad) has aged well! Remember him from M*A*S*H? BJ Hunnicutt?
Not from M*A*S*H, but he was the dad/vet in Providence.

Mike Farrell (the dad) is 24 years older than John Slattery (Victor).

I think it's the white hair. It makes Victor look a lot older than he is.

Glad I'm not the only one. I thought she was funny the first season, but now she just bugs me.

Edie narrating the show is a good idea... I think she'll end up being rescued, though.

I think she'll be rescued too, or the scarf will break, it looked pretty flimsy. I just couldn't buy Edie commiting suicide just because Carlos left her. It just doesn't fit with her character.

I don't think they'll kill her off. They are just adding new depth to her character this season. The only reason I could see them doing that just before killing her off is so that we would all feel something for her when she killed herself. But I *do* think it fits with her character. We hadn't seen emotional Edie before. We didn't know her history with her mom. Now we know she is terrified of ending up old and alone with everyone knowing how manipulative she is. Lots of seemingly not suicidal people have a crisis that sends them to suicide.

I just now, finally, watched yesterday's episode.

Tom needs to find his spine and kick Lynette's mom OUT. She's an abusive beyotch. Lynette needs to concentrate on fighting the cancer, NOT having to battle her mom. Lynette may not have the strength to kick her out, so that's why I say Tom needs to step in and protect his wife.

I think Lynette needs to turn to her friends, and share with them what is going on. Maybe she was hiding it just for the day, so she wouldn't spoil Gabby's wedding day. But she needs her friends. (And NOT her mother.)

Poor Gabby. I hope she goes back to Carlos. As fast as her little legs will take her.

Susan's surprise wedding was so nice. But don't they need a wedding license? I mean, when dh and I got married (back in dinosaur days), we had to go to the courthouse and get a license, and the license was only good for a certain amount of time - like a week or so. If they were planning a wedding to be in two months, it doesn't seem likely that they had the license already. But I guess that's TV.

I'm so glad to see Bree back. She's got nursing mother boobies - more than the dress could handle, at the wedding sitting at the table with the other women. So like her to put Danielle in a home run by nuns, and so like Danielle to absolutely HATE it. Julie's going to figure that one out pretty quick.

Sad ending with Edie. I agree with the pp that they won't kill her off, not after developing more sides (more likable, human sides) to her character.

i hated seeing Edie hanging there...that was soooo shocking.

i can't wait for the new season. when will it start?

Maybe she really is dead, though it's hard to tell if she is just moving or if she is leaving the show--

That just sounds to me like they are moving. Although I'm sure EVERYTHING about her in the press is being purposefully vague so people won't be able to figure out if she is really leaving the show or not so as not to kill the suspense of "Is Edie really dead??"

I wonder how things will play out with Lynette's mom. I can see Tom's point of that they really need the money, they have no money to pay a babysitter, etc. But why would he want to leave his kids with someone who starts calling one of them a bastard is beyond me. I would take out a loan. And personally, I have a hard time buying their whole poverty line. They live in such a huge, nice house. But I guess unforseen medical expenses can affect people very quickly.

Money has always been one thing that bugged me about that show. It seems like Gaby has always been super-rich. Very expensive cars, etc. But then people who live in the same area (like Tom and LYnette) are always having money troubles. How have they been able to hang on to their house? And what does Susan do for money anyway? Is writing children's books really that lucrative that you can afford a house like that and never really work again? Unless she's writing Harry Potter? And how can a plumber afford rent there? (Of course, seeing what some plumbers charge....) Oh well, I guess I just need to not think so hard, after all, it's television.

Tom and Lynette both had very lucrative careers in the advertising industry before putting their savings on the line for teh restaurant.

Susan is also divorced and probably recieving payments from her ex.

A plumber who was bankrolled by that old man could afford the rent. But you'd think that his health problems and disconnect from teh wealthy man would be a tip of to hm that all was not well.

her mom could have changed. Tom is to much of a weak person to really help Lynette. He has never really helped Lynette but been more like Child #6. Her mom has been through it before.

Many TV weddings happen fast without a marriage liscence.lol We had to get one and it was not valid for 24 hours. I think it was good for a couple of months though. They could get "married" and then get the liscence and such after.

It seemed to me that those scenes were shot early in her pregnancy. They never showed her without a big stomach.

I could see Edie having called Carlos or someone else before she hung herself so they'd find her as a way to make Carlos feel guilty and stay with her.

She's been manipulative since the beginning of the show, so that really wouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

This isn't TV. This is a reality for many many people. I live in a very rich town, starting wage at Tim Horton's(like Krispy Kreme mixed with Starbucks), McDonald's etc is $15/16 per hour. You'd be surprised WHO lives in the richest areas with the biggest toys sitting on their front lawns but who can't afford to pay their power bill because all their $$$ is tied up in loans & credit. But they need to have the image of being rich to keep up with their friends. When their credit cards are maxed out they play CC tag with the next company.

i actually liked how tom stood up for lynette's mom. maybe she has changed? i'd like to see more of how tom and lynette work through the whole rick thing. lynette doesn't seem terribly sorry for what was going on and i imagine that tom must still be really hurt, even with her cancer.
I don't care if she has changed. Lynette's mother is annoying and mean. I don't think I'd be able to handle her.
I think Lynette needs to apologize for telling her mom she got breast cancer because she cheated, Lynette's mom needs to apologize to Lynette for doing things behind her back (allowing Kayla to watch another movie, an adult one at that), and for grinding the axe at the wrong moment. Lynette needs to explain to Tom what she found so appealing about Rick (that he talked to her about her interests, not just about bills, the kids, the house, the restaurant, etc.) and they should have date nights every so often without the kids so they can reconnect as a couple. They've just been going through the motions for so long. (I can see that being something they might not be able to do because of the cancer, but they should have some couples time.)

i doubt i could handle her either but i think that when lynette is at her worst with the cancer her mom is going to pull through for in an amazing way. then again, it's desperate housewives so maybe not

i really want to see tom and lynette connect again.

do you think next season is the last season?
