I have been doing great recovering from the birth (its been 9 days), but in the last 2 days the skin on my body that got stretched the most has been itching like crazy. I've tried different lotions and over the counter anti-itch cream but they dont seem to help. I wake myself up almost crying b/c I start itching so much in my sleep that my skin ends up getting weird looking rashes/welts on it. Does anyone have any idea what it is or what I can do to make it stop??? Its driving me absolutely insane... please help :

Sorry I can't help, I've never had that, maybe you should call you OB and ask, it sounds like you are very uncomfortable..sorry hope it gets better.

I had severe itching at the end of my pregnancy and it was related to elevated liver enzymes. That condition is most common during the third tri, but in researching it, I remember coming across multiple conditions pp that sounded the same. Due to mommy brain I can't remember the names atm, but I do agree with the pp that you should call your doc. GL!!

I don't know anything about this, but I'm sorry you have to go through this it sounds terribly unpleasant. I would ask my mw about it.
Hope you feel better.

I remeber that... What I would do was slather up on coco butter lotion, when I took showers I only used Ivory soap. I would also increased my water drinking lots more. I would call your doc just to check

It sounds like you have PUPP. Is it located mostly on your stomach? I had this near the end of my pregnancy and right after. Most OBs and midwives won't recognize it. I had to diagnose myself and then mention it to a dermatologist before they figured out that was what it was. If it is PUPP, than it will go away on its own. In the meantime, just put lots of lotion on.

Forgot to add don't use the sented lotions they made it worse stick with non scented lotions.. At least for me when I used a scented lotion it would be 10x worse. Hope you get feeling better soon

yeah, it sounds like PUPP rash, but you may want to get it checked out to make sure. Hang in there!
