Congrats to all the mamas who've had their babies!!!

Who else is left to go?
When are you due?
Me. I'm still incubating.

I'm due on Tuesday. I am losing my mucous plug today and have been randomly crampy with some real contractions, but nothing organized enough to go into labor. *sigh*

It's not that I'm impatient, just eager. KWIM?

Due the 24th.

No signs of impending labor but we didn't have any with Ina 'til we were officially in labor, either. She was 10 days early though .... DH and I were just talking about how we were quite anxious/nervous ten days out from the due date but now we're kind of in mode. Baby will come when s/he is ready ... maybe we'll even end up with an October baby, who knows? That would only be 1 week past the due date, after all.

DH thinks it'd stink a bit for Ina to share her birthday month, but it's not so bad as having a birthday over Thanksgiving or Christmas, I'd say - when a kid is more likely to be traveling and not even *home* to have a birthday party (or, friends aren't home to attend it).

We'll see though, due date hasn't even hit yet. We could have a babe in arms tonight!

I'm due Tuesday too, and starting to get bored and restless. Everything is ready and everyone is ready. The phone calls are starting to roll in. I keep having these false alarms of contractions for a few hours, or cramping, and a little show and then nothing. It even feels like she has moved back up a bit, instead of being down so low. Our bathroom is finally finished, so I took a bath today, but it was so uncomfortable to sit in the tub. We have been walking and doing tons of housework.

I thought I would go early with this one, since I have been having contrax forever it seems. I am not even thinking it will be a fast labor.
It is silly, but part of me is worried something is not right with her. She moves around plenty, so I think it is just some anx on my part.

TMI warning, but is anyone (or did anyone) have lots of yellow, mucousy discharge? This alternates with a bit of old bloody mucous and a bit of pink, red when I have contractions that are steady for a while.

Each day is one day closer to her birthday!

Me, due the 17th, hanging around. Having lots of strong contrax but nothing consistent, just enough to wear me out.

And I'm about ready to tear of dh's head b/c he keeps telling me he can't help out with dinner/kids/house. etc, b/c e is too tired and needs to save up his energy. Um,,,,,,, right,,,,, good thing I'm a robot and I just need to plug in some double-ds for an energy boost, right.

Sad that I'm not excited at all, I just want this to be over.

I am still here and baby seems to be very comfy tucked away in mama. My EDD was 9/22 and I know that that is an accurate DD because we were charting temps, etc...I've had contrax, nothing major, but contractions off and on for 3+ weeks. I have also had tons of yellowish discharge that the PP described for about 3 weeks now. And I too have had the thoughts of "what if something is wrong" that was also described in a PP. Seems like we are all in the same boat, mamas!

Even though I'm only 1 or 2 days over my due date, I am getting so nervous about induction/interventions. We had an absolutely beautiful birth with DS and for better or worse, I have had it in my head that we'll have the same experience with this little one. So, I'm just trying to stay positive and embrace all of those empowering birth vibes that are being sent my way.

My water broke spontaneously with DS and labor rushed in like a freight train, so it will be interesting if this peanut's labor begins slowly and continues on and on...either way, I am so ready to get started and cannot wait to hold this baby.

Hang in there, ladies- it is so comforting to know that I'm not the only one who is becoming super anxious and eager.

And at this point, it looks like we'll all be having little Libra babes

Me!!! I'm due any minute, which is so exciting!!! Lots of action going on in this body of mine, can't wait to see when our moment comes!

My DD was 9/20, by ovulation. I am 100% sure of that too. So far this is my longest pg.

I am so ready...I am even running out of the 'if I get to it, I get to it' things, in fact I should run out tomorrow-that is if I'm not in labor . I guessed this baby would be late too, my guesses have been the 26th or 28th all along and its the "other people's" guesses that keep passing which is really getting me down.

I am trying to be patient...but its hard when DH is driving me nuts constantly asking where the baby is and how I'm feeling. I knew him working from home until baby comes would drive me nuts!!! I'm sure he's probably just as eager as I am though...

Me....... Scan due date it the 25th (Tomorrow) but by my cycle I would have been due on the 18th..... And the first scan I had said she was due on the 19th... But I just went by the scan date which is yeah, tomorrow... For some reason I really thought she would be here by now.... *sigh*

Me.
Don't know when I'm due, though. By my guesses, I could be quite overdue or not due for another few days yet.

Still waiting here! Baby was "due" the 17th by ovulation. DD was only 3 days over.

My mom was supposed to fly back home yesterday, but she changed her ticket & will be here until the Tues after next now.

I've always thought baby would be really far off "due," but I wasn't sure early or late. I was hoping for early...but here we are; one week and counting!

due date by ovulation VS last period

ladies, exuse me for this quesiton that i feel i should know the answer to BUT.... my midwife gave me my due date based on my "last period"... but i know i got pregnant 2 weeks after that (i was charting temps and knew when i was ovulating).

so QUESTION IS: it is 40 weeks from conception? or 40 weeks from last period? because in my case there is a 2 week difference.

if it's technically 40 weeks from conception then i am really only 38 weeks right now (which may be why my due date was yesterday but i dont' feel very close to birthing this babe- i feel i could carry on for another week)

midwife would like nothing better than to do a membrane sweep and i've put her off for the last 2 weekly visitis, however i am figuring i may let her do it this wednesday, for no other reason than i am afraid what might happen if we go TOO OVERDUE and then have the worries of more serious inductions.

FYI ... i did let her do a vag exam 2 weeks ago and there was minimal if any effacement, and cervix was still pointing back... and dilation of barely her finger (though she said it was enough to do a sweep). i do trust her, she's a long time MW, with 1000 births (or something like that) under her belt.

so, emotionally, i'm mostly content here, taking each and every 'extra' day as an extra opportunity to connect with pals, catch up on all that prenatal reading i was reluctant or too busy to do and do some last minute nesting (last nite DH humored me and we reorganized our messiest, biggest closet).

so any info on this 40 week thing would be great.... thanks, gwinith

We gestate 38wks from conception date...40wks from Last Period (LMP).

These are just AVERAGES tho...if you have a 28 day cycle, then these dates may be pretty close...if you have a 31 day cycle or a 25 day cycle there can be a week +/- difference!
SO...if she is going by LMP and you are a true 28 day cycle, AND your due date was yesterday, then you have a good 2 wks to wait before 'serious induction' should really be discussed.
A membrane sweep is not necessary...the bottom line is that if you start 'messin with mother nature' she may kick you in the ass. What I mean is that yes, a membrane sweep could help, but it may make something else happen...say your water break...before your body is ready--then you have the dang 24 hr 'timetable' that Drs love to use (but that your mw may not use) and then you may be looking at other things like c/s to prevent infection.

If I was in your shoes (which I'm not, so please take this with a grain of salt), I would say NO MORE internal exams...they only worry you if you're not dialating or effacing, or excite you for possibly no reason if you are dialating/effacing since you could walk around dialated at 4 for weeks!

Anyways--set your sites on 2 wks from yesterday as your 'day to start trying new things' and just be patient with your body--it was made to do this and if you 'relax and let it happen' it will work more efficiently! (which it sounds like you are doing!)
Good luck to you mama!!

I know it sounds incredibly confusing... I've had many probs trying to explain the theory to DP about the whole 40wks thing... Although you're only pregnant in reality for 38weeks, they add 2 weeks onto the start of your pregnancy and take it from your last period, so my baby is due on the 25th (Today....) and conceived on the 2nd of Jan (Well to dates she was) so although I wasn't pregnant before the 2nd if you count back 40 weeks from the 25th of Sept that would make me pregnant from the 19th of December (Even though I wasn't) does that make sence...?? It's really confusing I know :

Still here. By ultrasound, I'm two days over (due date of 9/22). By ovulation though, I think I'm due tomorrow. I've been having regular contractions for hours most days for the last few weeks. Hopefully this baby will be done cooking soon, as I already think he/she is pretty big. All in good time though, I suppose!

conception VS menstruation undertood

AH HA this makes sense to me now... that baby averages 38 wks of gestation... but 2 more is also fine... yes i think i'll talk to my midwife about NOT sweeping til absolutely neccessary. when i said NO to it last week but said i'd be fine with an exam SHE was the one who said "if we're not sweeping then there's no reason to do an exam". so she's not pushy in that sense.

i think i'll just do the natural things of walking as much as possible, swimming (as DH and i did today) and our favorite one that midwife keeps asking me about: "getting frisky under the covers" to get my own oxytocin going and get some prostiglandins depostied from papa to "suggest" to my body that we are ready any time now.

thanks for laying it out so clearly ladies, i knew i could count on you... here's to enjoying the last days/ weeks/ months of carrying our wee ones on the inside.

Just a note: average gestation is 41.1 weeks, not 40. :-D
