Which Probiotics do I choose

I am ready to begin using probiotics to help my son who is apparently allergic to something that I can not figure out. After two months on an ED I have read that I need to heal his gut. I am not entirely sure how to do this, but I have learned that probiotics are a very important start.

I have found one kind of probiotics that is made without any of the major allergens and has the strains of bacteria that are good for allergies and GI healing, but it does not need to be kept cold. I have also read that a quality probiotic should have to remain cold? Is this true?

Do you all have a recommendation for a probiotic that does NOT contain any of the 8 major allergy offenders?

Thanks,
Cindy

Not all need to be kept cold. There are brands that are very high end and shelf stable. We use Pharmax (which does need to be chilled) and find it works very well.

can I piggy back on this??? I was wondering if you buy your probiotics online or at your health food store. We have a bigger sized co op type place with natural remedies etc... but I have only seen a few kinds of probiotics there, and they look like they are flavored.

What kinds of things would indicate that it is a Quality probiotic?? Any online suppliers recommended? I know our ND sells some too, but it seemed like hers was more expensive... would that be better than something I could get at a store?

Thanks for letting me piggyback on your thread!
